THOR gave bleak guidance for 2023 as earnings came up short in the last quarter. Winnebago is one of the most shorted stocks at the moment as well. I'm not sure who's buying an RV with rising interest rates and prices that are surely to come down...if it follows the used car market. I would absolutely wait until the Summer to see what deals are available because there's a good chance an inventory buildup my occur and like you said... the quality is so bad for recent RVs that some might sell it at a deep discount because of the constant problems? Not sure if you include AirStream's in the bad quality batch but I hope you'll do a video on Airstream because I'm curious.

@cranpa25k You are exactly right! From everything I have read, there should be some killer deals to be had in Summer/Spring as dealers are trying to recover from overproduction (lack of sales). However, I did learn that Hurricane Ian produced a lot of buyers as many RVs were destroyed on the peninsula of Florida, which might be just enough to balance out the overproduction. This would ultimately keep prices the same if their supply is met with demand, but we will see! To answer your question about Airstream, I recently was watching a couple with a 2022 air stream (which falls in the bad batch time frame). That unit was practically brand new and they were suffering from exterior body paneling flex from incorrect installation of furnace, a grey water tank that failed to latch (could definitely cause problems when driving down the road), a manufacturing crack in the shelving unit, a broken fan blade in the air conditioner (extremely loud), a shower leak (bad seal at the base of the door), and a leaky roof either from condensation or a break in a seal. I understand every unit is different and that manufacturers are not and will never be perfect so I'm not going to bash Airstream, however this is just an example to show they seem to be having a few quality control issues as well!

I fully agree with you. I've had 4 TTs all of which were over 10 years old when I bought them. All required repair--learning experience--but cheaper by far than a new. My current TT is a used 2022 that was bought new in 2021. I saved $7,000 and immediately found a few preventative maintenance issues to adress like inadequately mounted drawer slides, cheap 110v. outlets, very inconvenient light switches, poorly assembled seat and bed supports. And I haven't even taken it on the road yet! Financing is just one issue to consider when buying an RV.

Thanks for the comment and the support! I have loved tearing into our 2014 fifth wheel to do renovations and learning how everything works. It has saved us so much time and money! I know people who buy new are afraid to do this because they might void the warranty but ultimately they never learn how it works, which if you are living in it, is something you need to know how to do! Which is why I always encourage buying used at the bottom of the depreciation curve. It's outside of the warranty, you have the least money to lose if you have to sell it, and you can immediately start doing renovations if need be for relatively cheap!

Thank you! The only appliances that we kept in the whole kitchen were the refrigerator and the stove. Between new lighting fixtures, new faucet fixtures, paint (for trim, cabinets, and walls), new farm table and bench, air fryer, ice maker, coffee maker, wood shelving, and shiplap, we ended up spending right at $1500!
