8:55 Cryptocurrency is not even backed by the energy, time, or mechanics used to generate it. Cryptocurrency is only backed by its protocols security and users. For example if a flaw is found and exploited with the Bitcoin protocol it could become worthless overnight. Additionally if there's other protocols that become more popular it's worth could disappear as well. Think of Bitcoin as Myspace, and along comes another thing like Facebook which pushes it out of the way.

I used to be very bullish on crypto, perhaps even an evangelist, but with all the backdoors in cryptography (e.g. China recently getting in our cellular network via the backdoors our own government forced tech companies to put in for law enforcement and defense), it makes me very nervous. The thing we all need to understand though is that digital scales, XRF, sigma metalytics are all hackable too - maybe the hacks require physical access, e.g. interdiction, but if you don't know how to test PMs the old school ways you're vulnerable buying them too, and if your local dealer only trusts what the machine says and big brother doesn't want you to be able to sell, you're screwed.

Life is about balance and diversifying. I love my PM's but I did buy 4 Bitcoins in 2014. Sold 2 in 2022 for a nice amount and invested it in real estate. now I am holding the other 2 lets see what happens. There are some ideas of having a cryptocurrency that would be based upon computing work that has already been done, that would be useful if unlocked....or that was somehow bound to computing work being completely in the future/present in exchange for it. The most realistic way of this would work would be via a protocol which allows distributed computing tasks to be completed in exchange for assesets/currency that would be translated into a cryptocurrency. That cryptocurrency could then be used by big oil and gas or AI vendors to solve computing problems via the distributed computing Network.

BTC and crypto in general moves between wallets all the time, it's completely normal. Those wallets could very well belong to the same individual. The beauty of blockchain is that it's transparent but with anonymity. I think you also confuse BTC, which is a digital store of wealth and the largest network in the world with altcoins, such as Eth. Altcoins are corporations building Web3, they have no connection to BTC, which is not a corporation.

Volatility is not a bad thing. It's just movement, whether up or down. As a day trader, we want and need volatility, whether it be in forex or crypto. I bet your kicking yourself for trading your BTC for gild now, huh? How many ounces could you have purchased now with that same amount of BTC? BTC will continue to move upwards every four year cycle. I would begin to take a position or you'll get left behind, and the you'll buy in down the line when it's critical for a much higher price. My 2 cents.

Crypto is just 'dead money' - it doesn't help the economy. Crypto doesn't help economic growth. Crypto is funneling liquid resources that could be used for growth into a savings account with an unknown interest/growth/loss rate. Precious metals do the same thing, but they truly store wealth.

Pricing it based off its use as a commodity will leave you very well disappointed. I'm speaking from a purely monetary standpoint, metals will never go back to being used as currency for the exchange of goods, especially on a global scale. They are at the moment, gold really, used as a form of liquidity for financial institutions and nations. But that can easily be achieved by Bitcoin as well going forward, with the added benefit of not requiring massive safe storage facilities, months long transactional times, fees and salaries for employees etc. I hold gold because I believe it has a somewhat solid base for being able to hold onto its wealth outside of the system, but that system isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I think our economic system has become way too complicated for the average person . Is turning over our economic resources and power to ' financial advisors ' the answer ? I emphatically think NOT .
