I have an Excel file with 185 lines, each line an entry of a place were I was twitching since 2002. Some lasted two days and others lasted 10 months. Some areas were repeaters, some only happened in that specific area once. It’s all meaningless. The more I focused on them the more I twitched. Listen to this video and don’t waste your time worrying about twitches. I’m still twitching 21 years later and still going strong.

I’ve been struggling with health anxiety since November. I had a lot of symptoms that would last a month. I had dizziness, headaches, i convinced myself i had HIV, a brain tumor, etc. But now, for a month, i’ve been experiencing muscle twitches that are very fast and not repetitive, also I cannot see them, just feel them. It all started when my right thumb twitched and I felt weakness in my arms. It passed, but then, I started feeling these internal twitches and feeling a weird tightness in my right hand and wrist, muscle tension all over my body. I went through A LOT since November and i am hoping all of this is because of stress, the fear is really making my life a living hell everyday. I am 20 years old, and I am desperate!!!!

I can totally relate with everything said here, and really appreciate your words. i am a 43 year old male who has suffered in the past from depression and anxiety. I began going down a dark, depressive route Starting around Jan 2022 My left eye was twitching for about 7-8 months every single day Then stopped for about 3-4 weeks, then the right eye for 3-4 months, then stopped again. I started a new job in November 2023, and stopped vaping, and within 3 days of stopping, my calves began twitching and this has been going on and off to present day. I have also developed burning sensations that come and go l over my body since March this year and More recently, my left arm has began twitching. I have been down the ALS rabbit holes on many occasions, testing my strength via lifting weights and exercise. Scanning my body regularly etc I’ve had very dark days as many of you have. I visited a neurologist not long back and he did some cognitive tests and without me mentioning anything about als, he turned and said to me, with a half smile on his face,I don’t think it’s ALS . He said, you’ve probably self diagnosed yourself with that already, which I had. I have 2 young children who are heavily reliant on me as I am the bread winner and as I am no longer a spring chicken, I do worry about my health ( unnecessarily, as I am quite fit and strong ) affecting my ability to provide for them. So this is probably an accelerant of my symptoms, which becomes a viscous cycle for me. The twitching continues daily, but I will try to stay strong and positive and not overthink. listening to your words on this video really do help and I thank you, and wish you, and everyone who is going through this all the very best. God bless

Googling Eye twitching and vibrations that I’ve been experiencing for 3 weeks have brought me down a dark dark path. Here I am constantly searching ALS symptoms. From experiencing muscle twitching to random jerks, convinced I have this disease. Meanwhile I’m at the gym every night pushing heavy weight. I needed this video. Why? Because I have started questioning my mortality, how I could never live with the disease, thinking of ways of how I would have to end it. All over… eye twitching. The anxiety, stress and depression have made things 20x worse for me. Health anxiety is a real thing and google is the gasoline for the fire. We need to stop doing this to ourselves. We are hurting our mind, body and souls.

I started ALLLLLLL the way back in 2006 with twitches all over my body (tongue and all). I was only 20 at the time and this was before social media! I convinced myself I had the first diagnosis that popped up on my computer screen - that was of course, ALS. They did have health forums back then but they were obviously no help. To this day, I still twitch, but I now see the pattern & they are far worse when I’m anxious. They honestly don’t even bother me these days. I’m so used to them & I know they are harmless and sooooo common. You’ll get there too, guys. The odds are FAR in your favour. Hugs 🤗

I appreciate this video so much. I'm 31 Male, caucasian Male. I have 100% visual atrophy of my left leg, HOWEVER, I have a confirmed a diagnosed herniated disk that shows this, further more this leg had clinical strength test from a physio not long after, very clear nerve and muscle damage from my sciatica. I broke up with my ex recently 2 months ago, I was going through the stresses of worrying about my liver. I am an alcoholic of 12-10 years, in the last 3 I went absolutely mental. One day while my ex was behind me in my bed, I was about 5 beers in and I was COVERED in itching and pin pricks and needles. Few days pass same symptoms, constant, and my nerve damaged leg starts kicking off, twitching more than it did when I had my last spell of sciatica. A month and a few weeks pass I start feeling really down, my muscles feel heavy my damaged leg is going crazy 24/7 twitching spasms and cramps, I google (worst idea ever) (potential MDN / ALS) I go hooooooly shiiiiiiit, my already stress filled life ramps up by 2000x. Some nights no sleep and symptoms got worse by 100x over the nights. The twitching hasn't completely stopped, but I'm calmer. I accepted that I have health anxiety, I kept trying to play games to take my mind off that wouldn't work but I noticed when I would sit down by the telly with my mother and talk all the symptoms would alleviate, that doesn't happen with ALS or / MDN, it's forever. Like you said about clinical weakness that was key in me learning that this isn't this super rare disease, even on my atrophied leg (from sciatica), I did self-tests as I knew before it's alot weaker than my right leg but I could calf raise without difficulty, raise my toes, raise my heel and hold balance on this particular beaten up leg for over 20s

Thank you for this video. An area just above my knee started twitching about a week ago, it's off and on but when it's going it goes for awhile and usually worse at night when trying to sleep. I've had twitching before, usually eyelid of calf but at most it was only for a few days, so this feels different. Of course even though its probably the least likely culprit the first thing the internet tells you when you search for this is ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases. So I've been sitting here freaking out thinking about how awful it would be to go through something like this, not just for me but my family. This video has made me realize there's really no need to worry until there is something to worry about. I have a Dr appointment in a couple days and will still go to that, but I think this will give me a more positive and realistic attitude about it.

This is single handedly the greatest video I’ve ever watched. I’ve been dealing with a funny feeling in my lower right leg, where it just felt a little weak and it was freaking me out. My grandfather died of ALS, as well as an important person in my life going through it now, so I am very familiar with the disease. The feeling wouldn’t go away. So I went to doctor google. Oh my god, the symptoms I was reading about (muscle twitching, cramping, weakness) I kid you not 15 minutes after I read that article I had muscle twitching and my right arm felt funny. That was it. I was now in full panic mode. I’m 21, I play a sport for a living, and I’ve been wrapped up in rehab/PT away from home for my shoulder surgery for the past three months, in a hotel room, by myself, with all day to think and focus on stupid stuff. I actually stumbled upon this video google-ing “ALS early stage symptoms.” For the past month, I’ve been fully convinced that I have ALS which has wreaked havoc on my mental health. I was already planning my end once the symptoms hit the “other people have to care for you” state. The mind is a powerful thing. I’m still not fully convinced that i don’t have it (😂) but this certainly helped. Thank you so much

I stopped taking the antibiotic but I now experience tingling, pins and needles and all that in my hands. I am just now opening up to the idea that this may „just“ be from the constant panicking and hyperfocus on my hands. I don‘t even remember what my normal hands feel like, and it has only been a week. Im 36, and have had muscle twitches for 7-8 months now off and on…ive gone down the rabbit hole a hundred times. It’s worse when im just sitting still (but that’s the only time I really notice it). It’s so frustrating. But I’ve had no other symptoms. Just random fasciculations all over at different times. It’s scary. I’m very active and have little kids and I just worry myself to death and can’t ever stop thinking about not being able to raise them. I was a pretty heavy drinker for a couple years (2020-2022-covid times). I quit drinking. My wife’s dad died in October of 2023, she was stressed and we stayed up late one night drinking (I drank way too much) and the onset of fasciculations started the next day and have been off and on ever since. I haven’t drank since, but it’s worried me so much. I am a high anxiety/anxious person and always have been without the best coping mechanisms(work more, work harder, workout more/harder, ect). I’ll just keep waiting and seeing if things get worse or better. They don’t affect my life, but they do cause more anxiety. I just stay busy and ignore them the most I can, but laying in bed at night and feeling them starts the cascade of worry all over, over and over again. Idk. Just wanna raise my kids and be there for them.

Hey there! I really appreciate this support video. I've been having twitching in the face, calves, arms, feet etc it's getting worse. It's probably not ALS but I've also got a horrible face rash currently that's red, hearing loss that's coming off and on with ringing in the ears where I can barely hear, nausea off and on, horrible headaches etc. especially in the morning I did some research after suffering badly for awhile now, and apparently CHRONIC LYME DISEASE can cause muscle twitching which can be mistaken for ALS sometimes in people. This could be the case in my case, and if it is, well, the bad news is I'm having problems, but the good news it's probably not from ALS . That being said, my symptoms are serious, and if it's Lyme Disease, that's also serious and needs treatment, but at least it can be treated. People need to be aware or Lyme disease too. It almost killed Avril Lavigne even, it's common (way more common thsn ALS) and the symptoms are horrible. In any case, worried about my health which seems to be deteriorating, and I'm worried about symptoms which appear to be bad, but this video is reassuring that it's probably not ALS.

@@LidoBombs2 Feeling better overall, but the twitching is frequent and literally EVERYWHERE! Face, neck, hands, feet, calf muscles, arm muscles, you name it. I'm getting EMG testing in a couple weeks. It's very scary, but I haven't noticed weekness at this point. Had an MRI too and there's white matter congruent with migraines though it COULD be MS in my case as white matter in the T2 receptor sites can be migraines or MS and hard to differentiate (and I've had migraines my whole life). Too early to tell.... Obviously very scared, but it has been happening for a couple months plus now and I went hiking 6 miles a couple days ago, so I don't think it's ALS .... Eh As horrible as MS is I'd rather have that then ALS obviously. MS CAN also cause spasms like this off and on but it usually has other symptoms. Not everyone with MS gets spasms either but many people do. The thing is I've had some of these other symptoms unfortunately like flashing lights at night, and uncontrollable eye movements, especially when I wake up. It's sort of like the spasms, but my eyes will move everywhere uncontrollably for a few minutes. Obviously I'm getting EMG testing and seeing a neurologist.... Eh still scared crapless, but at least I keep reminding myself I hiked 6 miles the other day. That being said the twitching/fasciculations drive me nuts.

@SkepticTalk Жыл бұрын
@@torbawden8856 No fun! Lots of shocks and stabs. In my case a needle in the neck even. I've gone through worse things, and thankfully it only took like 90 minutes, but it's definitely not enjoyable. That being said, it was well worth it. In my case I'm experiencing weakness and fasiculations/twitching... So I may have serious health concerns still, but it's great to know that it's almost certainly not a MND motor neuron disease like ALS. The other thing to note, my weakness is more, "It's getting difficult and causes fatigue to do ABC action.". With ALS it's more, "I can't do ABC no matter how hard I try.". One is a form of physical weakness versus clinical weakness. Clinical weakness with ALS comes with I can't that spreads... Based on what the doctor told me. MS still really sucks too. Eh.... I had an MRI and white matter was found in the frontal lobe areas. This can be caused by migraines which I've had my whole life and it can be caused by MS...... It's too early to tell, but I'm almost, 36 which is one of the common ages to start developing MS whereas ALS is even more rare at 36. How old are you is the first question? If you have fasiculations everywhere, that CAN be a sign of MS too though generally it isn't, but with some people (as it might be in my case) it could be the doctor told me. The other thing is I get them everywhere. I've also got other symptoms though just for reference. Uncontrollable eye movements at times with both eyes, especially in the mornings. Horrible headaches, weird flashing lights at night, and dizziness, especially when the head goes back or after lying down (vertigo). All of these symptoms tend to wax and wane which is a sign of MS too. There are remissions and then symptoms like this can hit you bad. Not saying you have MS or ALS though.... obviously if you're having fasicikations like this I'd do the EMG testing and be done with it so you can hopefully move on from the ALS worries etc. It's an extremely low risk test that has been around for many decades now! It probably doesn't hurt to check for signs of MND just to be safe in any case of spasms/twitching that can't be explained and is persistent. If you're NOT getting weakness with your fasiculations, it's almost certainly NOT ALS. I'm not a doctor, but that's what I understand from what I've read. Where are you getting fasciculations and what other symptoms if any are you having?

I Have a awful health anxiety and OCD (male 28) and I'm im the bulbar Als rabbit hole .. I read about it and after a week I have started to slurre many words, No one have heard it when they speak to me, but! I have it recorded when I do slurre, so I really are slurring my words. I also started stuttering. After the first slurre I got so hyperaware of my speech. I have never had any problems with my speech, my speech is my biggest gift in my life so when something is off with it, I know for sure something is really wrong. During this time, I also remember my tongue feeling fatigue. I do not slurre all the time it's coming and going. I’ve also developed in the last 2-3 days a scalloped tounge and burning sensation on my tounge (never had this before), fasiculations all over my body, mostly on my left buttcheek, it also feels like I have lost the coordination of my tounge and my tounge is always touching my teeth while I’m speaking, I never had braces and I have straight teeth. And today I have bit my tounge like 15 times meanwhile I'm speaking .. So to my question, is this the bulbar onset of ALS? Because how can it be possible for me to slurre my words for 17 days with just hyperawareness and health anxiety, it should not be possible right?

My twitches started about 4 years ago and I seriously thought I had ALS. 4 years on and they’ve basically completely gone. I get the odd one now and again but they’re no where near as bad. For me the best thing was accepting it’s a benign condition and ignoring them. The more you worry about them the worse they become, so stop worrying! Obviously that’s easier said than done but if you’ve had the tests done by the doctor and they say it’s BFS, you have to accept that you’re fine. I promise it will get better and that’s coming from someone who worried themselves sick over it. The doctors said anxiety was causing them and I didn’t feel like I suffered with anxiety at the time but obviously it was underlying. I’d say I do suffer with anxiety now but yet the twitches are less bad. I have other anxiety symptoms that I’m focusing on instead unfortunately! I think whatever you focus on you ultimately make worse or at least you notice it more.

Panic attacks at night when my heart goes mad. Since months i’m having twitching, tingeling and numbness in my body. My sister has MS, so i’m worried that I have that as well and that is the reason of my heartproblems. MS can literally affect everything in the body. been down the ALS rabit hole, but I have heartproblems as well and ALS does’nt affect the heart, so that’s somewhat of a relief…. Next week I have an appointment with a neurologist. The docter says it’s stress. That’s possible, but I’ve experienced no stress for the last two months and the symptoms don’t go away. MS isn’t a hereditary disease, but my chances of getting it is about 40x larger because of my sister has it (say 3-4%). All was fine at her first appointments with a neurologist as well. Her symptoms were worse. Especially the insane fatigue that is specific to MS and “walking on clouds”. I’ve had a twitch in the arch of my left foot for almost nine months now. I think I’m on top of the anxiety and I’m doing better and then will have a bad day where the twitch is nonstop for hours and each passing moment feels like a death toll. I hate it so much. Thank you for the reminders. I needed it badly today

Me too now. Do you also get a vibration with it around areas like ankles and under soles of feet ?

@@KyzerGB yes. It feels like the muscles are quivering even if it’s not a full on twitch. I recently started cutting out all caffeine from my died and I have noticed and improvement but it hasn’t gone away entirely.

@@everbejoyful Did the sensations come on after taking anything, like antibiotics, covid jabs etc ?

@@KyzerGB the only thing I was on that was different was a low dose of lexapro. I was on it three months. The month I weaned off of it, the twitching started

@@everbejoyful This could be the reason why. I've been on amitriptyline and citalopram. But have been on amitriptyline for few years now, As Dr's always think that's the answer . 😠 Have a look into glutathione iv which can help rid toxins out system when the body can't because its all out of wack .

Ive been twitching non stop 24/7 for over 4 years.. in every muscle.. sometimes i feel weak, i focus on every move my body makes. Im hyper focussed on everything. And honestly its destroyed my life.. try to not let the anxiety get you to that point. As i type this i feel every twitch, pain, light headed, then the panic starts and the cycle continues

@tor112233 now I'm just learning to live with the twiches, still have them 24/7. But been over 5 years or so now.. so I have to be rational. My health anxiety is still there.. long journey pal..

I'm currently scared to death I have ALS and a bunch of other things. I have been dizzy on and off with balance issues for the last 4 months, I've had all tests done and they can't figure out why. 6 weeks ago I developed a twitch in my left eye and spasms in my neck/back and inside my head. I've dealt with vision issues and I'm still going thru more testing. I'm truly hoping it's just anxiety.
