Thank you so much dear father for your heartfelt homily! I so needed it after the fake mass accidentally attended today. Visiting my son in San Diego not knowingly went to St. John evangelist ( fake )Catholic Church. To my shock and surprise it was empty, only very few folks with a guitar player sitting in front of holy Mary’s statue. I felt so sad for our Lord, for all those who have abandoned His majesty, couldn’t stop my tears looking at the young priest with his funny gestures and behavior. Don’t understand Spanish so had no ideas what he said in his homily but I felt there was something wrong. As we were exiting saw the sign of gays welcome with their flags and all inclusivity lies! It broke my heart that most likely I have received our Lord from a gay priest or a gay compromiser. It made me so so sad can’t describe how it felt! What an insult to our beloved Jesus and Mary! Lord have mercy on all of us specially that priest and his bishop! It’s all so confusing!

Thanks father Meeks for your perspective on The way.There are 100 versus in the bible which states that god's people perish through lack of knowledge. The word perish has more than one meaning. What kind of knowledge to seek first in everything is so very important. Like knowlege of the ways which Jesus Christ teaches us about. 1 Corinthians 13 v 8 says that all other knowledge is destined to become obsolete some day. Since we cannot each know everything about the ways of Jesus Christ in only one lifetime it is left up to our peers and to the next generation to find out more.

Funny, I also remember hearing Fr. Dan Nolan say, "If you understand it, it's not God," in a sermon sometime in the past couple years. Hadn't ever thought of it like that, and didn't know it came from St. Augustine.

Excellent homily, Fr. Meeks & very timely for me personally. Two pieces of context as to why: first, recently, the commenter Matt Walsh did a commentary on Dylan Mulvaney (the man who would be girl) after cosemtic his ‘cosemtic’ surgery & reveal party. Mr. Walsh, stated, and I am paraphrasing here, that surgery, makeup, dawning dresses, & seductive poses, might reduce his macsuline quotient, but it would never ‘make’ him a woman & as such he was ugly. There was nothing in Mr. Walsh’s commentary that was inaccurate or offensive (or at least no more offensive than Mr. Mulvany parading around pretending to be a women, is to women). & yet, Mr. Walsh was called out by other commentators, who have themselves expressed similar views, for being too mean. I am assuming their objections were rooted in the belief that if we seem to be too mean or critical, that we will lose the battle (as if the case could not be made that we have alresdy lost the war). Second, I have recently joined a bible study group & the most recent study verse was Matthew 9: 36 -38 & 10 1-22, which is not only pretty stark but the prelude to ‘I have come not bring peace but a sword.’ One of the study questions was what is Jesus trying to teach us & one respondent said to have more compassionate, which begs the question to what or whom are we being compassionate? Mr. Mulveny influences millions of people, some are preveted grifters as he is, but others probably just lost souls without a God. My point of this overly long triade, is whether it was St. Paul, or St. Augustine, or Thomas Aqunias, their message was not to be nicer or more compassionate, but to be, in essence, ‘more God’.

God is a God of logic… the Law is for All and the sins are things we All could be guilty of…. We just have our wants and desires so we try to find things that exempt ourselves for our personal wants and desires…. We are no different from other humans. We lie to ourselves ( our on ramp to the non-narrow way) to say that we are not a certain way or are special/different to go farther our own way and not God’s way.

Perhaps I am not understanding. God is truth. God is clarity. God asks for faith, but not for ignorance. He rewards the faithful with understanding. God is about plain and simple truths. God is not an unknowable mystery. He wants to be sought out and known. While he may settle for blind obedience, he prefers knowing and faithful understanding.

So you believe that God can not make himself understood? This is what the Bible is about and that is the battle to shut the mouth of God and keeping him from being understood is one of the approaches. The final battle between Satan and God is an attempt to literal shut his mouth through possession of the flesh of the second comforter. The Spirit of the second comforter is the true God.
