Hello! Love your video and I am a new subscriber 😁 I have taught preschool for 5 years and have always wanted to be SLPA! I am interested in an associate degree that is offered in my local community college that also include getting your SLPA license. What is the main difference between getting a B.S or A.A in SLPA/communication studies? Is there a big pay difference?

This is so helpful! I am in a post bacc program for SLP. I am done with education and getting out of the field! I wish I knew all of this before I became a teacher! Teaching is not worth it anymore:(

I’m in this same boat! Got my BA in psychology this may and decided to work as a paraprofessional since I wanted to become a SPED teacher and woooooow. We had a SLP in our class and I worked in early intervention before this job which is similar to what SLP’s do minus the certification and THIS, this is what I want to do!! Impacting their lives in a way that I can keep my sanity 🥲 By any chance can you share what school you went to? I was originally going to apply to a SPED masters, but am now looking into SLPA since it seems to be less costly than becoming an SLP since I don’t have my BA in communications disorders ):

@@darlaolivares2466 I am in the University of Florida post bacc program. It is fully online and you are able to work while taking classes. FSU has an online program too. both programs help you gain credits to apply to SLP grad school or to apply toward your SLPA. I am working toward an SLPA cert now. Hope this helps!
