Yes! At durst i def thought he switched, then no when they did the signal hand, then yes when the lady and he were alone (i figured out the trade war thing) then no when the mocklin got off the space ship, then yes again as he was talking about the new job :D

The absolute best version of this story was done on the 1950's radio serial called X Minus one , they use an entire troop of voice actors along with studio sound effects .

This is really a terrific story - and i didn't even guess the ending - LOL great reading, also. i just love the way he uses the accents -sort of Appalachian. thanks :} (nb - i've been on planet now for quite a while and read loads of scfi, can get kinda boring. - but i really enjoyed this one!)

I know where the trading Post came from, I think! Pretty good story :D Also, they keep making fun of the woman for being angry, but no one bothers denying what she thinks it's going on. They talk around it and expect her to fill in the blanks, but that doesn't work on people already angry. I feel like they could have saved some time, had they spoken plainly to each other 🤣
