I'm 17 and a few hours ago, my parents told my younger siblings and I that they're getting divorced. They've fought every single night ever since I can remember and as a kid, I got caught in the cross fire multiple times and was hit. When I was younger, I thought "it'd be better if they just got divorced already" but I stopped thinking that way years ago so the fighting just became the usual and the divorce really came out of nowhere because they'd always say "we still love each other." They've been married for over 22 years. I'm relieved that hopefully the fighting will stop, but I've still been crying for 30 minutes. I know that it's selfish of me to say this, but I've been having extreme manic/depressive cycles for the past month because of college application stress so this is just the worst time for this to happen. I just wish they'd done this years ago when I wasn't already dealing with enough stress to make me physically sick.

💥WARNING:LONG AND SAD💥 My parents are getting divorced in a month and im going with my mom. I remember when I was little, it was parents day and a little girl in my class said that her parents were not together but I was to little to understand. She started crying and I felt bad because I could see how much she was hurt. I used to think that I was lucky to have parents that love each other a lot. But over the years I have seen so much much that I don't even know how to explain. I thought everything was going to go back to normal but I turned into a 1 day fight to a 4 day fight and to a 7 day fight but now they don't even want to see each other and I'm so hurt. I don't know were to go so I can tell anyone because I'm scared they will judge me. I can't tell my parents because they will think I'm weak, I can't tell my older sister because se wouldn't care, and I can't tell my brother because he is too young you know what is happening. This week I have felt so happy and comfortable with myself but now I don't know who I am. You might be like you are being over dramatic but just imagine seeing your family slowly tearing apart. Having all those moments that you you remember when you were little. How happy you were because you didn't know what was going on. But at the end of the day I have to keep that one smile on my face because I have come to the realization of what they are trying to keep to themselves for a long time to keep you happy. I woke up to my parents yelling this morning because my mom was cheating on my dad. Our financial situation isn't great and when they divorce I have no clue what will happen. My main worry is leaving my town because I go to a highschool with AFJROTC, a military elective class and a lot of my life will revolve around military if I do things as I currently plan. I have no idea if i'll even be able to go to the same highschool because neither of my parents can even sit down and talk without yelling and breaking things around the house, much less decide where to move state wise.

I can't believe that this day will come. My parents are always fighting (even before) to the point that they're shouting about planning a divorce. And now, it's getting worse and it's happening. I'm so pissed off by their actions. I'm so sad for my 2 siblings. Can't handle the mere fact that m standing as their foundation wherein deep inside I need a foundation too. I want some peace. When I was younger there was some kids in my class who’s parents were divorced, they always said stuff like “I went to my dads house” I was confused and I thought that would never happen then it happened and it was just an emotional rollercoaster (I was only starting 2nd grad when this happened) Then I remembered all the stuff that my mum and dad fought about, an then I realised why they divorced. My parents did agree they wouldn’t try find another partner, my sister was upset but wasn’t as close to my dad as I was. My mum sends me to places that help me to cope. I just want you to know 🌸IT GETS BETTER🌸 try gain friends or gain trust with people you know and talk to them , or if you are mad at your parents ask could you talk to them or write a letter to your parents expressing your emotions and feelings. My story: My parent's got divorced and i couldn't choose where to live, so i had to go with my mom to another city. I don't know if she realised that se was taking me away from my friends, school and everything. It affected me the most out of all 4 of my siblings. When I was 23 my dad left my mum for another woman I was hurt, sad, angry. I tried to talk to my parents about how I felt. Neither of them could deal with my feelings. My mum was busy being wounded and dad was too busy being happy with his new woman. I felt I was alone. I felt this controlled my life. But time went on it still hurts. I just came to a decision one day that I wanted to stop hurting. I decided to move on and not be stuck in that hole anymore. Being angry and hurt for so long takes energy and sucks your happiness from you. And the most powerful thing was I forgave my dad after a lot of time. I did not do it for him. I wasn't condoning what he had done or forgot about the pain and hurt he caused, but it was my way of taking back the control of my life. And I felt better for it. 🙂🙂

My parents still didn't get divorced,but facing a storm of problems every single day. My dad is doing everything just to balance everything. My mom is not comfortable with my grandparents & at the same time my dad can't let his parents go also he can't let my mom go . He's trying his best to keep everyone happy but my mom isn't understanding . He's not seeing that my dad is doing everything for our good but she keeps blaming dad , she uses harsh words to him , she insults him she's literally creating a lot of pressure to him . Things are going wrong also my dad's health isn't well . He keeps telling "My life is going to end soon ,get yourself a life daughter" I'm totally broken right now . At this point I really want peace , I don't want my mom go from my dad's life but that's the only way to extend my dad's lifespan otherwise my mom won't let my dad live a happy life :)
