Damn you literally just narrated what I'm going thru myself now. Fell into a depression bc of finances, closed myself off to everything bc I was beyond embarrassed and pissed off at myself and now my and my gf are literally at rock bottom and she's thinking of leaving. We decided to try to save our relationship and are going thru that now. It's been super stressful up til abt a week ago and now seems to be going better thanks to people like this. Think them, but don't ever say them out loud. Because it doesn't achieve anything good, it achieves no progress. Use only words that do achieve progress. And those are words of encouragement. Words of positivity. He refuses to re-train his brain. He grew up in an abusive family where his mom and her third husband yelled insults at each other all the time. And he's a very intelligent man. What a shame.
