You have closed all our media at home, you have no more opposition, you do not allow dissent, you have built a new "iron curtain", you have even more NATO troops, even more weapons at our very borders. After all, you are now declaring to Europe that "maybe Hitler is not so bad," and you have people in SS uniforms marching through the streets from time to time. Oh, so you've been waiting for this, when you can walk around in a Nazi uniform? Are you saying you don't want to be shot at when you cross the border? What nonsense! If you now rush, let's say, through the forest from Poland towards Belarus, the Polish border guard will not shoot you? Yes, he will shoot you right away! Just follow through the checkpoint, that's all. And it used to be like that. Okay, I'm tired of reading nonsense about how terrible the USSR is. Wake up! The USSR has been gone for more than 30 years. And no one threatens you. Just as you were slaves, so you remained. It doesn't matter with whom - with Napoleon, Hitler or Biden. You will serve them all. Biden blew up the "Northern Streams", everyone knows this, but the Germans just got lost and continued to lick the ass of the Americans. That's all your "freedom"!

IFA Warburg is satire? Weren’t they allowed to play in the GDR and USSR? It’s kind of confusing because Wikipedia says they were founded in the 1990s but I think it says they had songs from the 1980s or something. Also, some channel called “IFA Wartburg” which seems to be the official channel appears to genuinely be socialist, as it talks about the destruction and “annexation” of the GDR and stuff, but it could equally just be MORE satire. I don’t know, I’m not exactly an expert on the band but like, it seems confusing.

For those confused about the bands political leaning, seriousness etc. One of the two main band members, Magnus was interviewed in 2017 by journalist Christian Ihle, you can find the full interveiw online. And he said the following about the concept of the band: ''We called it “Russian pop.” And since we spoke earlier, we thought that a propagandistic GDR image would correspond to music. So uncool that it was almost cool. We chose the name IFA Wartburg because we heard that this vehicle was really better than the Trabant. My high school teacher showed us examples from East German textbooks. I remember Ernst Thalmann and something about a naval ship called Peace. It was really hilarious! I still have copies of some of these pages somewhere. Something worked very, very good as an inspiration'' So basically they don't seem to have had a particulary strong political motivation, one of the band members was inspired by Communist propaganda and thought it would be a silly but good concept for his band.

It's a satire song by a Swedish band ;) To call the FDJ "patriotic" would be a massive disservice. Like many socialist youth organisations and socialists in general, the FDJ was against nationalism, viewing it as yet another way to keep humanity divided and distract the people from gaining class consciousness. In the video you see lots of working together with youth of other countries, foreign trips and cultural exchanges, and even if the East German state is glorified, it was more used as a way to show how cool and good socialism is, and how rad it would be if the whole world was like that. So it's an upbeat socialist song instead of a patriotic one. But you're right that it's damn catchy
