Your right about one thing , if the parlour breaks down it’s usually on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening, don’t know why but you can bet on it. We put in a new parlour a few years back and you would need a degree in computer engineering to fix the bloody thing, god be with the days when you could fix it with a visegrip and Philips screwdriver and a bit of common sense, now we have a mixture of single phase, 3 phase and 12 volt circuits, touch screens and pneumatics , works great when it’s working fine but you may just ring the man when it stops working! Thankfully that has only happened once ( on a Saturday evening) since we put it in! We are locked up again as of last month so I do appreciate the relief of going clear especially with calving starting to get close. Hope your father is comfortable and contented to be home. Yes I think adrians parlour is modern enough. Pull the ropes for feeding, couple of switches there and that's it really. TB seems more common last few years whatever it is

The 1st thing come to my mind when you told us about the TB test was I hope your Dad was able to understand the news. I knew it would have been on his mind if he was aware of the timing. Glad to hear that the TB test came back clear. Good to learn of some of the day-to-day issues you come across and how you correct them. With so many things that you buy today being throw away items that cannot be repaired, it was good to see that you could repair those vacuum switches if a spring breaks. I grew up at a time where things were meant to last, and most things could be taken apart and repaired. Sadly, that isn't true anymore. I guess that's what you call "progress".

Great news on the clear T.B test. And having your dad home is even better news. Just noticed a few bubbles in your main jar couldn't tell you if there's a pinch clip open somewhere or a problem with your non return flap but if it's always there. Then there's something to be checked maybe even milk pump seal. When your watching from a video not always yo easy to know for sure

Hi Adrian I'd like to offer a tip for moving cattle, gotta confess I observed Top Pemberton doing this. Get a paper meal sack with a small amount of meal in it, shake it whilst calling the animals. Over time they will learn to follow you and not play silly games. Great news about the TB testing.
