Regarding replacing the screen , genuine service packs come basically like @2:20 but without the battery and has been like that since the s8 so don't have to worry about removing it from the midframe like you did at the end of the video. You say you hate taking them off when you don't really need to, making a screen replacement just a case of plonking the boards and other small parts from the old screen to the other. Part from that though I enjoyed the video :)

I wonder if the periscope camera can be modded for more zoom.

Sollous I’m sure it’s possible but probably at the expense of image quality. I heard of some people modding that same periscope camera in the P30 Pro from last year but I haven’t seen much improvements that made it seem worth it. Only ever came across one article on some oddball website a few months back, and the before and after modding photos that were in that article looked to be only minimally less grainy than taking a photo with the before modded camera then zooming in on that photo. If I can find that article again I will post it here if you like so you can see what you think of the difference in the before and after photos (I’m am in no way a photography expert so there may have been a few more differences than what I could tell from my untrained eyes lol)

@Terminatorm101 Жыл бұрын
Hey was looking for some comments like this. I believe there are dozens of such cases, but Samsung has never admitted it's a hardware /software fault caused by their update. Unfortunatelly I haven't found any viable solutions, rather changing the whole module or just simply to move on to the next one (not sure if it will be another Samsung, though). Only shake or go to settings/close settings may run the camera focus recalibration..... Here in Ukraine, in Samsing official service, I was told to pay about 40% of the phones market price just to replace the camera. Not worth it. Still having some vague hope that they might fix their flagman with an update. Apart from that, s20 Ultra still holds up very well in 2023.... but the main camera module failure is just a desperation...

I bet it's planned obsolescence. My S20+ had a green line of death after a software update. Searched and found tons of users having this issue as well. Samsung told me I need to pay 30% of the price I paid for the phone to get it repaired even though it was caused by them.
