Kugan, you do the best interviews and make the absolute most of them. I think Eddie is pretty honest, it's all about money but he wants to see the best fights happen at the same time. Keep up the great work I think you are fantastic for boxing and give fans a great insight into 'behind the scenes' stuff that you never really hear about. Much respect

What I like about Kugan is he doesn't try to navigate an interview to a certain agenda, he just asks a pertinent question and lets the interviewee expand on it without interruption. As a result, you can get some fascinating insight in his videos. Hearn has really risen in my estimations for being open, honest and willing to break this all down.

Kugan almost always navigates to an agenda you muppet. When did you ever hear Frank Warren reveal the intimate details of his business model to all and sundry not to mention exactly who was present, who said wot to whom and how much and who got paid?Kugan always mentions:1. Warren when interviewing Hearn, and vice versa.2. Groves when talking to Froch3. Joshua when talking to White4. Brook when talking to Khan5. Eubank when talking to BJS the list is endless. IN court its called leading the witness and elsewhere, providing enough rope with which to do the hanging In other words after casually flicking a match into the powder keg, he just shuts up and lets his victim do the rest. Eddie Hearn is loose-lipped in the same girlish way as an Alex Ariza. Sure, he is riding high now with the backing of Sky but his fast and loose way of telling everything to anyone is unsustainable. Kugan really takes advantage of this weakness in Hearn which will surely come back to bite him hard in the bum.How do you think Warren has lasted so long in the game?Hearn is a good salesman but without his dad and this unpresidented relationship Sky dished out to him. He would have ended up as team leader in a Romford double glazing company.

+boza edwards I agree he does navigate to his own agenda, but it's the agenda of what 90% people talk about online, I don't think he's taking advantage of hearn. Hearn knows exactly what's happening, he knows the type of questions that will be coming his way. As Hearn said, this medium is not the corporate crowd, when commenting on his swearing, he knows his market and is getting people on the Matchroom gravy train by being transparent. Because he knows this approach is what people want, he sees the KZbin market for what it is and uses it. The reason Warren is still going is because he is a name, and he was successful and can still live on that success. Hearn is much more open because he doesn't screw people over as much as the other promoters. How many boxers hate Warren? I would guess a lot more than Hearn. Sounds like I'm a fan boy of Hearn, but hey this is how I see it!

Frank Stein He said it near the start of the interview...I agreed with what he said re eubank snr being difficult,which he should have already known,considering his dad managed him during the majority of his career,the hair comment was just my weird sense of humour,although it is true,no harm intended,no hidden meaning.Thought it was a great interview,explaining the planning surrounding setting up a fight etc...Hearn is doing good things for boxing,the interviewer is good also,he has great access to most of the top fighters in Britian...Great result today Crawford winning again,cheers from Australia.

hearn has messed up big time here, why he didn't have eubank senior carried in on a golden throne while everyone in the crowd is forced to their knees to worship his greatness then just keep things simple by giving senior the mic so he can commentate from the ring while he's refereeing and marking the score cards

Eubank Sr. cost Jr his fight with BJS too, when I saw him not talking to Jr in between rounds you could see it was all just a show for Sr. He could've been giving him his wealth of boxing knowledge and told him to step on the gas, instead Jr got "when you sit down make sure to bend your knees" and silence... he wanted to do the bullshit theatrics and Jr fell too far behind. He needs to ditch his dad.

I don't care what anybody says. I respect Hearn and the job he does as a promoter at Matchroom. He seems to do his job fair and square. I don't understand why people give him such a hard time (especially over social media, which is pathetic) when in this instance he has blatantly done everything within his power to make the GGG vs. Jr fight happen. People can say what they like, but until they are actually behind the scenes themselves and realise the pressures of deadlines, the political disputes and all other demands that are entirely out of his control then for me these will always be invalid and useless comments. This seems like a man genuinely exhausted from trying to give people what they wanted to only be frustrated and let down at the last hurdle. Like he said, its his reputation on the line, and therefore I know I would definitely do the same if I were in his position. I also don't blame him for getting the Brook fight so soon after either, fair play it will be a massive test for Brook moving up the weight classes but at least we are getting 2 elite level fighters that are going to give it their all no matter what, and we all know in the boxing world anything can happen. As a Brit I will be routing for Kell but have respect for GGG and wouldn't be too disheartened if Golovkin did get the win over him, he's a beast after all, and just the fact that he's fighting for the first time as a pro in UK should be enough for us to shout about, especially against one of our own. If the Eubanks want that fight so much it will happen in the future. They will just have to wait their turn. Good look Kell, a lot of respect for taking on the man nobody else will.

This is a very interesting interview, and Eddie Hearn sounds sensible enough. At the end of the day, Hearn is Eubank's promoter, so I give his words a lot of credence. After Golovkin's family and friends and managers, I would be the first person who wants him to have a fantabulous payday. Having said that, pitting Brook against somebody like Golovkin makes me excessively nervous, and it is not just about the weight. I have watched all of Golovkin's fights available on KZbin, going back to when he was supposedly 14. Golovkin was an excellent amateur boxer, but he has continued to show improvements in every single professional fight. I have watched 4 of Brook's more recent fights including that against Porter. As good as Brook is, there is an undeniable gap in skills. Forget the weight issue for one moment (by raising his hand, Brook has shown his balls alone can claim all of 147 lbs.). How the heck is he supposed to narrow the skill gap in less than 9 weeks?

Ali came over as world champion pre-hiatus for the 2nd Cooper fight, and Tszyu was unbeaten in ten years when he came over to face Hatton, have a rest about them not being in their prime.
@bozaedwards8845
@bozaedwards8845 8 жыл бұрын
you're talking out your arse pal. Check your facts. Tszyu was way beyond is prime and seriously damaged goods when he fought Hatton. He had suffered on of the worst beatings ever at the hands of Vince Phillips. He was battered from the opening round until he was out on his feet late on. He wasn't the same fighter after that. Ali/Clay was not a global superstar pre-suspension and lets face it Cooper and London had zero chance to win. Therefore these events were really just sparring exhibitions by the Champ. THe last time anything like this happened was when Randolph Turpin took the title from Sugar Ray Robinson in 1951. That's 65 years ago Eddie has a point here. In fact I don't think even he realises how big this one really could be.

Tzsyu lost to Phillips 8 years before the Hatton fight & hadn't lost a fight since, was universally recognised as the lineal light welterweight champion & number 2 in Ring Magazine's mythical P4P rankings, he was also a strong favourite in the betting, yeah, the guy was absolutely shot to shit. Ali became a superstar as a result of the two Liston fights & becoming Ali, when he came over for the Cooper & London fights he was the biggest thing in boxing. Yeah, I should check my facts, eh? If Brook somehow beats GGG I'll just take a leaf out of your book & claim that Golovkin was 34 & never really that good anyway because he hadn't beaten anybody. All the best.
@bozaedwards8845
@bozaedwards8845 8 жыл бұрын
And yet you've just contradicted yourself. Tszyu had in fact lost within a decade of Hatton not as you asserted. Gratifying that you've corrected yourself on that fake factoid-good job. And he was beaten insensible as I told you and he wasn't the same fighter as he had been, just as I told you. After Phillips he was fed a diet of worn out re-treads(Check his record while you check the rest of your facts) His matchmaker knew Tszyu was damaged goods long before Hatton got to himAli came over here to box a couple of exhibitions. On the other hand Brook is undefeated and is taking GGG because nobody else in or around his weight class dares to fight him. You are entitled to your opinion on Golovkin but last time I checked he was universally recognised as the pound for pound King of boxing who forced the next biggest megastar to vacate rather than face him.So good luck with that one..
@joshforde698
@joshforde698 8 жыл бұрын
I didn't say Golovkin was no good, I said that if Brook beats him I might copy you & come out & say that, in reality the best fighter he's fought is Lemieux, maybe not entirely his fault, but his team did say they were putting "everyone from 154-168 on notice" and they're fighting a welterweight. Okay so I got the date wrong by two years, Tzsyu was still 8 years unbeaten; he iced the unbeaten & heavily-hyped Zab Judah in two rounds & stopped Sharmba Mitchell twice. But you're right, one bad defeat 8 years previously means Tzsyu was over the hill & never any good anyway.

Eddie is so natural. Interesting to learn what goes into putting one of these shows together. Senior's ego jammed the money machine - older but no wiser. I totally understand why Hearn lost his rag, and rightly so.
