I LOVED instrument training! It was the the most challenging and rewarding part of flight training. I did it long before GPS, and when I looked up after an hour's flight under the hood and saw a runway waiting I realized the magic of instrument flying.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work in the sky's! I am a 14 year pilot in training and I am being taught by my parents who work for United Airlines as a captain of a Boeing 747. We now have our own Skyhawks 172 and it flys great! I hope to be as good a pilot as you someday! Thanks for all of your hard work and for all of the videos!

Kind of funny; a little emotional watching this toward the end. Watching your dedication & commitment as a young man. You flying with your dad, and seeing a visible testimony that he worked hard at being a good father. Thinking I’d like to tell him “Good job...”. Then he patted you on the shoulder. Got a little misty. You tell him for me. He’s a good man. Started my journey back into aviation last spring and I loved your channel from the beginning. Thanks your service to aviation Josh, and for being a good businessman.

I love flying so much tho whether its in the sim or on a commercial aircraft. Iv never been in a general aviation plane tho because i live in NM so there is not many opportunists to fly in one but the one there are i cant afford. Thank you for making these videos your the reason why i want to become a pilot.

Excellent camera work! Looks like GoPro! The x-plane Airfoil Labs 172 has Nav stack with Garmin 430/AP, very similar to your stack. Editing in some x-plane shots to complement your live videos would be excellent. Also, editing in the Appr plates at full resolution, low en-route, etc. I know. I know, lots of extra work! Keep in mind that most training videos, Jepp, King, Sportys are all dated. There is endless positive cash flow in royalties. They just keep on comin! Using Final Cut Pro allows some animation, chromakeying. Example fly a complete route in x-plane ( with Pilotedge ATC, including checklists, walkarounds etc) and then fly the same route live. There are some publishers out there that would be very interested! Good luck! PS Try using your feet more in low chop to keep wings level and on GS. You seem a bit busy on the yoke. I could be completely wrong on this because it is hard to see your feet. This is a tip an old instructor gave me that really smoothed out my flying. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the video! I was wondering where your definition of "established on approach" came from? I've always considered "established" when your on course or within 1/2 scale, sounds a little nit picky but I think in certain places you could still be a ways off when the needle starts to move

Where do get all the money for fuel??? :) N-6395T (yes, I am being "smart!) Jealous, maybe? :) My GA experience, 152's, 172's, etc., and Piper Arrows, etc., wreaked havoc with my "aircraft disposable income." :) No IFR rating - maybe that save me "some coinage!" Your videos are very well done - you are to be commended (and your Dad, also) on your inherent abilities. Thanks

Now I really don’t feel so bad when I have to do my IPC because you have proved to the fact that he can get so busy when you’re not on a long cross country to be able to brief an approach and get all the flying done. Like I said it is always like trying to text and drive yet the FAA wants you to be able to brief an approach when you have to be concentrating on what you’re doing plus what ATC might interject very quickly.
@smirnoff15898 жыл бұрын
Love your videos man. I'm getting much better with ILS, LOC, and VOR instrument approaches, but I'm not so great with RNAV's. Does an RNAV approach provide vertical glideslope guidance? or only localizer type horizontal guidance?
@juusojd8 жыл бұрын
It does. And it often also simulates the needles getting more sensitive as you approach the runway just like a traditional ILS would do.
