Honestly, it's my first time to hear Wang speaking English. But I'm kinda impressed by him. Obviously, he has a wide range of vocabulary and more importantly, the topic he was talking about with the journalist was quite complicated... like you said, he is well-spoken and cultured !

folks, let's build a wall to keep chinese from analyzing my english. And who is gonna pay for that? Yeah, right. Mexico!
In many speakers of English in England, particularly in Estuary English, there is a tendency towards pronouncing coda L as W in younger and more progressive speakers. Even speakers with modern RP like Boris Johnson do this in some words. It’s possible this tendency in his speech to weaken the dark L sound is reinforced by the dialect of English he learned.
Your Chinese is phenomenal, I have to give credits to that. But I kind of question your analysis on his pronunciation on several "mistakes' like Good, expect etc. Because you speak American English, you are mostly familiar with American accents, there are so many different accents in the world. Some of wrong pronunciations (to you) might be right in their region even though you're a native English speaker. If you ever talk to somebody from Scotland or Nigeria or some other English speaking countries, you might even doubt if they are actually speaking the same language as you do because the vocabulary and pronunciations are very different from Americans. Wang, from what I know from the internet, grew up mostly in the English speaking countries, UK and Singapore. His English must be nearly native level.

In French class I learned to call the "connection" of words "elision." Then when I used the term in Spanish class, and to my German friends to try to describe the phenomenon, they all looked at me as if I were mad.
Hey Chris, is there a way I could reach you via message/email other than leaving comments here? Your local-like Beijing tong really blew me away when I first discovered your channel and it was pretty much the main reason starting following your vids. Love them. Keep it up, buddy~

我很喜欢你的视频。评论很精确,然后很到重点。在看的过程中还可以发现自己经常犯但重来没有发现的错误。
