Is there anyway you can explain how the word "olisa" actually means "deity"? If you can breakdown the root words i would appreciate it. I am studying the language and its root words to understand the language better. Sincerely,
@LEARNIGBOWITHUGBOOYIBO5 жыл бұрын
Olisa now means Chukwu both meaning God. Before Christianity came to us we revere the deities as God. Now we know better. There is a greater God than those deities. So, we rever God now as the only Olisa. Not every word has a root. Some is as it is. OLISA is now christened/baptised to CHUKWU.

@@LEARNIGBOWITHUGBOOYIBO Thanks for taking the time to reply sister. I had been studying the language and was shown how words have roots like chukwu is a collection of the roots chi + ukwu= Big life or great Spirit or Great Deity..thats why i was wondering about the word olisa incase there are some root words. I hope I am makong sende. I appreciate you sharing your cultural history. I have been shown alot about the bantu history and language origins which are pretty cool so this is nice. Sincerely
