Yes, Dr Apoki. That's why they hate us. We love all. We don't begrudge you for your success but we are highly competitive and would want to match and exceed what you have achieved. And this competition is even between brothers. Why would you hate someone who came to your place and saw a thick bush that has never been touched for a hundred years and asked you to sell him a few plots. You agreed and he paid you. He put his brains, energy and enterprise to work and later, became successful from that land. Now, you became envious and later your envy turns to hatred and Igbophobia.

What Govn Otti is commendable, he's trying to redeem Igbos images which is seriously damaged in the recent time
@basilebekonye65712 күн бұрын
@nigeriabello3183 Redeem IGBO image ? How and from what? That's the problem with Nigeria. If you are talking about some young IGBOs whom I can describe as " money miss roads", I am with you; but the average red blooded Igbo, you missed the road yourself. If you have been listening to Dr Apoki, an Urhobo man's commentary about Ndigbo and still believe those nonsenses about IGBOs, then something is wrong somewhere. Among the 3 major ethnic groups, the IGBO is the most de-tribalised, the least nepotistic and the most fair minded. He's the only one that can share and yet, carry last. He's the only one that's afraid of being seen as tribalistic so, he goes the extra mile to be fair to all . The reason why Enugu airport has remained " international" by name only is because of this IGBO proclivity to not be called tribalistic. Stella Odua and Jonathan borrowed billions to build new terminals in the 5 international airports of Lagos, Kano, Enugu, Abuja and PH. Of all the 5, it's only Enugu that's still under construction even though about 60% of the flying public in Nigeria are IGBOs. I don't believe any other tribe in Nigeria would have done what Odua did. Yet, she was chased out of office by the Yorubas who had before then, seen FAAN as their birth rite. So, what IGBO image needs to be redeemed. If you mean our hard-nosed propensity and doggedness to succeed where others failed, then you must ask God to remake us.

This is good move from the Abia state government headed by governor Alex Otti. Many states in Nigeria that are discriminating against non indigene should copy this laudable gesture by the Abia state government. But Delta state in particular should copy what has been happening in Lagos state over the years where non indigene are appointed into government jobs in Lagos state. But this hardly happen in Delta state. They will ask you about Local government certificate of origin before being considered for gainful government jobs. Some will just at the hearing of your name they will dismiss you back in Delta state. They will say you come from outside Delta state. This is not good enough for a state that is supposed to be highly enlightened. Even applicants from a sister state like Edo state are discriminated in government jobs by the Recruitment Officers in Delta state. NO STATE CAN ACHIEVE PROGRESS WITH THIS MENTALITY. Lagos state is progressing because it opened its door to non indigenes. There are a lot of indigenes of Delta state that were given jobs by the yorubas in the Lagos state government.

You want to claim authority over an issue you know nothing about. Remove the log in your eyes before trying to remove the speck in another person's eyes. There is hardly any rich man in your tribe that got it without some form of evil, criminality or fraud and there are far more rich honest Igbo men than those who became rich through dishonest means. Wisdom should teach you that there is more likelihood to have less dishonest rich men among a tribe that believes in hard work than in a tribe that wants to get rich but hate hard work. Your bigotry does not allow you realize that you are generalizing about people who are more than 50 million in number.

People hate an entire ethnic group when they have a negative experience with one or two members of that ethnic group. Therefore they become stereotypical. People also have a very good impression about an ethnic group when they must have had positive experiences with one or two members of that ethnic group. This makes them like that ethnic group. Both cases are not good because all ethnic groups and races have the good, the bad and the ugly! I am a keen student of Martin Luther King Jr. Judge not by race, colour or Creed, but by the CONTENT OF CHARACTER!

Why are you doing this? Who told you people hate Igbo? Why don't you talk about your own Uhrobo people this much? You are doing this for views or what? Do the Igbo themselves not have their flaws? Don't they have hate for others too? Have you seen how they respond to opposing views? You need to tone down on these rhetorics. If they don't love them, how come they are everywhere and living with other tribes? If there was igbophobia would that happen? Now you are saying the Ohaneze President means Ikwerre is Igbo, you do not reference that the Ogbakor Ikwerre have dismissed that act. Is that okay? Wike fought armed uprising by ipob in Rivers, now you are telling Igbo people that he was attacking them. Is that fair? If Wike didn't do what he did, maybe Rivers will be another Anambra to with insecurity everywhere. I wish Igbo people will be smart enough to know people like you are fake. Just trying to take advantage of them and ignore you. Sir, you are either not informed or you are deliberately passing out misinformation for petty and mundane benefits. Really unfortunate.
