There should be an acknowledgment of Johnny O’Keefe in the artist info section, he was the original wild one, Australian rocker and writer of this song. This is a great version of O’Keefe’s original, no doubt, but a version nonetheless.

Iggy Pop's "Real Wild Child" is a raw, unfiltered adrenaline shot of rock 'n' roll that captures the essence of youthful rebellion. It's a sonic embodiment of the desire to break free from societal constraints, a primal scream against conformity. The song's stripped-down, almost punk-like energy is a stark contrast to the glossy productions prevalent in the 1980s. This raw authenticity resonates deeply, connecting with the listener on a visceral level. Pop's signature vocal style, characterized by its urgency and intensity, perfectly complements the song's rebellious spirit. While the lyrics are simple, they are incredibly effective in conveying a sense of youthful defiance. The song's enduring popularity is a testament to its timeless appeal, capturing the rebellious spirit that exists in all of us. "Real Wild Child" is more than just a song; it's an anthem for the outsider, a rallying cry for those who dare to be different.
