We thought the review was very good. A big addition to the gameplay was the tuning of the Infinity Engine. Madden NFL 13 was plagued with issues during and after each play because of the engine. Madden NFL 25 is cleaned up and plays a fun game of football. It will be interesting to see what the team can bring to the table when Madden NFL 25 hits Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

This is by far the most fluid madden of all time, the controller to xbox response time is unmatched. Hate these new maddens on next gen with MAJOR lag/delay on the controller, made me stop playing madden. Madden 25 plays better than any other who cares about graphics and commentators lol

People say madden does not change but go back and play madden 08 and 09 and please tell me those are the completely different games. In connected franchise, if you use a good slider set, the game is near perfect. I thought it was a good madden, there is only so much they can improve year by year.

I was playing NFL 2K5 on the 360 a few weeks ago and its still great. 2005 was the best year for video game football, as Madden and NFL2k received the highest critical acclaim of any game in their respective series.

I've never understood this in Madden, why does every frame have to have an "EA Sports" logo in it? I mean, I already paid $60 for this game, and so did millions of other people, we all know that EA is the only team that makes football games and it's been that way for years, yet I still need to see that stupid logo everywhere? It's fucking petty, and you would never see that on an NFL broadcast or field. So much for making the game feel real.

EA Sports is the laziest game developer. MLB The Show and NBA 2K show how its done, but no. EA knows they have monopolized football and don't need to put in the effort. Honestly I wish someone else made a football game, but brought it to Steam (I'd still use a controller). Add some texture mods and it would look pretty damn real. Also why is it so hard for them to get snow right. It never piles up

EA bought the rights to all nfl names and logos and all that so they are the only ones that can make an nfl football game and thats part of the fun, playing as the big names you watch on tv. This game is pretty great if you mess with sliders, you can make it alot more challenging. But I mostly loved it because" I always play my favorite team which is the Steelers. And on defense I love to use Troy on the blitz, he's always a difference maker

I don't see why not. Madden used to be title Madden 2003, 2004, 2005, and so on. They didn't start shortening the number since a few years ago. They'll probably go with 2025, if the series hasn't burned out by then.

The color seems kinda faded and some of the players helmets seem like the aren't even on their heads. This being a good game I wish career and franchise/owner mode had goals or something to motivate you and keep the game play fresh so it doesn't get boring

This was released pretty much right when the xbox one came out. So obviously the visuals aren't going to be superb. The visuals are much better in Madden 15.

KingBenjiKong Bias comment is bias. There isn't any graphical advancments on the PS4, dude. Don't kid yourself. Both systems do the same thing graphically. The only real difference is the shading and lighting to a degree. But other than that they still look as good (or in this case, not so good.) It's fine to like the PS4, it's a terrific system! But the XBOX One is good too. :)

Everybody hates that Madden is the same game over and over again, but what more can EA do to improve? The tackles are smooth, the controls are simple, and the content is there. I think 8.5 is a fairly good rating for the stand alone game.

in every game i've played so far half the other teams defense will randomly go invisible so i can't tell if my receiver is being covered or if there's an open lane for my running back. definitely not an 8.5 if they can't even make the character models visible at all times

Let's put it this way. If you haven't bought a Madden game in a few years, Madden 25 will seem like a gigantic upgrade from previous titles. It's worth the buy under those circumstances. But if you do have Madden 13, the improved physics engine, albeit noticeably better, or the classic franchise mode, now called "connected franchise" (trades, hires, scout all in one) doesn't warrant another $60. The games DO get better year after year, but really hoped for more for the anniversary edition.

Madden needs to ramp up the presentation. Add more dialogue with Jim and Phil. Add more accessories and add press conferences for Connected Franchise. Also, ADD NETWORK GAMES! Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football, Add a playoff atmosphere and make the draft better.

Oh I agree (not sure if you read the comment I was replying too) no competition equals complacency. Competition will force devs to be innovative and try to bring out the best year in/year out. But that is happening less and less.Look at what the COD series has become,same thing as Madden.I miss the days when I would could buy Madden,2K,989 or even Tecmo football video games that ALL had the NFL license,as each game had strengths and weaknesses.But since the monopoly of EA/NFL, it just sucks --->

My Madden 25 review: I have more positive things to say than negative. The player movement is more fluid as opposed to Madden 13 where everybody ran like a fat person and looked robotic when you changed directions. The hits look more realistic too instead of guys lookin like they completely snapped a bone then getting up from it. Some complaints would be, the boring music like Madden 13. Not really a major deal but, Im a music head so....and I'm 0-9 in coin tosses-_-

Actually a great review focusing on the cons of the game. After enjoying 13 (in my opinion the best this gen, but it's a shame it took them 8 years to get it on this level) I'm not going to buy 25 this gen. I'd rather buy it on the next gen consoles, but only after researching it well! Remember how stripped down and bland 06 and 07 was? It took them until 09-10 to get back on the level where 05 on the PS2 left off at. I hope this time the next gen has a huge leap and don't hold back anywhere.

The last time I enjoyed a football video game was Madden 07. I felt blown away by the graphics and I once said to my dad to come into my room and check out these graphics since then it looks the same or worse and in 07 you could do 98 yard touchdown returns and break free it least once a game and go for long yardage, now it feels like that never happens and theres so many controls and you have no time to juke or do anything before your tackled. should i get 13?

That's not the problem, the problem is they take shit out and add it in another year calling it a "new feature". The gameplay is stale now, they add gimmicky mechanics like the Infinity Engine which ends up being broken. Not only that but they never fix broken problems in the game, and every time they add something it just makes the game worse. Any game can be "fun" but that doesn't mean it should get high review scores for a similar experience every year. It is broken and it needs to be fixed

As a 49ers fan I find it funny they couldn't even try to put tattoos on Kaepernick's arms... But that is a minor complaint... This game is pretty good so far... I think what you have to do with the Madden games is skip every other year... If you do that, you don't get disappointed... Buying Madden every year is a mistake..

I fell in love with Madden 96 on Sega Genesis! I stayed faithful even though people said 2K was better because I BELIEVED in this series. But 17 years in I'm really starting to wonder if this is still worth the headache. Madden 25...I'm leaving you for FIFA.

This year's game still fails to address the lookout blocking system employed by the line where they are lost on who to block. Open field blocking is 10x worse as tight ends and receivers constantly run around lost down the field instead of blocking someone. Defense is a total crap shoot. Its IMPOSSIBLE to shed blocks when rushing off the edge. As for zone and man, they are equally garbage. Man is too loose, and zone just stands there. This is made up for by receivers dropping 1 out of 4 balls.

Who said it has to be a yearly retail title? Why can't it be a 2014 patch? I'm interested in Madden, but not enough to pay every year. People pay $60 yearly for a game they know will be somehow improved on next year. It should at least be discounted for Madden devotees. Next year EA will be using a completely new engine, that will be used for upcoming years, the fair way to sell this is with yearly patches. Considering the Madden 25 used on PS4 and Xbox One will be in its earliest form.

I love video games and I am a hardcore (I don't play CoD, I play RPGs/open-worlds/etc.) but sports > video games. Most sports games suck though, with the exception of NBA 2K. Video games are just a hobby, no more no less; sports is much more than that.

After going down 14 to 3 in the first quarter on all madden (first game played) I quickly realized--Need 2 plays (ish) to win. A curl route and a HB toss and its game over. Final score was 24 - 47.. IN ALL MADDEN, thats just silly. Easy, no D, plays slow,glitches, game pauses. Overall I give it a 5 of 10... RENT, BORROW, REDBOX...Something first... dont buy. Unless you "must have" an NFL game with modern rosters, than this is the one for you.... BECAUSE ITS THE ONLY ONE
