"On the eve of the series' 25th birthday, Gran Turismo 7 is more than just a celebration of cars this time around; in some ways, it's also a celebration of itself. A modern mix of the original Gran Turismo's trendsetting format with GT Sport's stern but very successful focus on competitive online racing, this version is a potent podium performance from developer Polyphony Digital. With gorgeous graphics, a fantastic driving feel and racing options galore, it's the best the series has been since its dominant PlayStation 2 era. It does have some significant failings, though, including how it continues to cripple its career mode races with dreadfully flawed rolling starts, its car list is no longer as comprehensive as the competition, and its always-online single-player mode still seems needlessly punitive. But all of that is on the periphery of GT7's outstanding driving experiences, which are enhanced by the PS5's fantastic graphics and intense and flavourful haptic feedback via the DualSense controller."

Can’t help but feel there were quite a few big issues with the game for a 9/10 score. It doesn’t play well with steering wheels. I’m not saying it’s a bad game but there is no way in the world it’s 9 on a scale to 10. It’s gonna be interesting to see how they rate the new forza game. It has been been a better racing sim in every way imo over the past few years and ratings like this makes me think that this channel is a lil basis to Sony.

I'm still extremely eager for this though it seems like a game that had been in development for so long, it stuck with some things (ideas) that may not be that necessary (i.e. music rally). And as frustrating as in game currency is, I'm not surprised at all that they'd go that route like every other sports game these days. Overall though the attention to detail in the cars, tracks, and weather seem to be a high level. Very eager to get this!

weird how the physics don't transfer correctly between the two styles. It's vice versa for dirt rally 2.0 where offroading feels incredible but the pavement races aren't quite right

Offroad isnt that great in horizon 5 either, it looks great and is fun, but super unrealistic. Like you can zip around the woods and through rivers going over 200 mph. But theres always snow runner if you want to experience what driving through deep mud is all about

The cars that are only purchasable by “invite only” is actually a real thing. When Ferrari release a new Enzo like Ferrari, they are only available for purchase if you have a collection of Ferraris already. This keeps scalpers/flippers from getting them and inflating the price. Also makes the car much more valuable in the private market. Most cars that are sold in this fashion will double or even triple in value.
