after playing this game 3 times, it’s a 9/10. the way that each of the 4 lords is a different type of horror (dimitrescu and her daughters is the fear of helplessness, beneviento is phycological fear, knowing that something is coming but not knowing when, moreau is the biological body fear, with the pus and goo everywhere, and karl is the frankensteins army kinda fear) the enemies have variety, the story is AMAZING, especially the reveal at the end. great game

My favorite RE since 4 easily. 7 set a great template for what a first person RE experience could be despite being boring at times but this one kind of went the route of 4 and cranked the crazy up to 11. It still managed to stay in a realm of possibility more believable than even Leon being able to complete his insane mission in 4(especially when you take Ethan’s regeneration plot armor). All in all it was worth the wait. Glad to see my favorite series back on track.

The first game ends in an explosion, the second game starts with explosions, and throws way more enemies at you. The third starts witb an explosion, has an explosion at its midpoint, and endpoint, and has a dude chasing you most of the time, loosened up the controls to allow for more.... actions... made you fight more zombies again.... then the "action" trilogy of the series happened. RE has always had a progression of action. Including the ones people hold so dear. The game is brilliant it has a lot of scares and a descent amount of action to balance it. It is much bigger in scale than 7 so its logical to have more action. It successfully pays homage to four tylee of horror Lady D is victorian vampire Beneviento is poltergeist type horror moreu is lovecraftian style aquatic and karl is Frankenstein steampunk type . A lot of work went into this game and its variety is amazing 9.5/10 easily

This was a fantastic game. The horror theme surrounding the game are horrors of fatherhood. Lady D is meant to represent the draining of a father in a marriage. Donna Beneviento represents the fears of having a child, attached to the resentments that come from having to be a parent (DB literally says it would be better if Rose was never born). Salvatore Moreau is representative of masculine insecurity, selfish/greed, and gluttony (letting yourself go when married). Heisenberg is representative of masculine pride, arrogance, and being “trapped” in a job occupation. His stage is a factory, mass producing your enemies. Lastly, Mother Miranda is representative of a possessive partner. A woman who literally wants to steal her husbands child, rebrand them as a missing part of themselves, and literally infect them with wrong ideas of themselves and the world. EXCEPTIONAL STORYTELLING IN A HORROR GAME!!

“Too many Villages” 8/10

People always complain about game scores, but really, this game does NOT deserve an 8. It's a 9 at LEAST. The game is a masterpiece and people will keep coming back to it and it'll be talked about for years. Mark my words. Atmosphere, aesthetic, gameplay, characters - this game is a masterpiece. An 8/10 is ridiculous for it.

Resident evil 8 is atleast 9/10 or 9.5/10. Great game worthy for horror game of the year. Can’t believe the variety and how huge this game is. It makes me feel my money was well spent. Only other game this caliber next is ratchet and clank and horizon 2.

For a horror game, this was by far one of the best. But as a Resident Evil game, it felt more like a kin to Silent Hill than a Biological Monstrosity apolocalypse. Idk, maybe I'm just too use to Zombies, Mr.X, and other bio terrors.

Well in a way these new Resident evil are like a reboot to the series. Notice how the RE title changed and isn’t written like the old ones. This is the first person trilogy of the RE franchise. I’m sure after 9 they’ll go back to another revision

Wouldn't call it a Masterpiece. The game is too short, The boss difficulty is meh, and The game is always jumping in-between the lines of Action and Horror, therefore the game also lacks consistency. It deserves the 8/10

My favorite Resident Evil experiences are in third person. They definitely needed to ditch the tank controls but the first person perspective, makes it feel "Wrong" for me. I'm looking forward to 3rd person remakes for RE1 (they can do this one last) , RE5 (will be insane just like 4) , and maybe RE6 (they started losing me there)
