My favorite part of this hunt is the fact that after one of his rail gun shots, Rey Dau opens its head for a focus attack that has a 100% chance to knock it down. Really good use of the mechanic

This is genuinely an incredible monster design, from the pylons on its head as horns that focus the lightning to the fact that the huge explosion (a-la Ramiel from Evangelion) will start with everything going dim and the only visible light source is coming from the boss. Not to mention the music when you're fighting it, oh my god I've never felt so immersed. Especially with the new overhauled combat that feels so transitionally smooth now. Great job to everyone who worked tirelessly to get this masterpiece on paper!

Yeah, it even caters to the git gud crowd with the core gameplay mechanics so you can really appreciate the endless grind and time sink. They kinda nailed the opposite of paid cosmetics.

Beat this beautiful boy and loved every second of it! It's a great design and the final zone he runs to looks great. I was waiting for a collectors edition to be announced but after finishing this fight, I couldn't wait and just pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition. We Monster Hunter fans are eating good lately!

3:20 when the hunter is attacking Rey daus leg. It turns and pauses for a second to look at the hunter like….really? Then it tail whips, and shoots a lightning bolt out of its face with intent to murder. This might be the best game ever idk

I have a question about this game, so does this mean hunting or searching for the monster is removed. Cause it looks like they found the monster right away like give you the location instead of searching for it like in world.

I don’t think so I’ve seen monsters leave tracks like in world. I think they just tell you where everything is because it’s a beta and that just makes it easier.

Even worse actually horrific port unless you crank DLSS and Frame gen but even then the Frame Gen is barely holding on and you get terrible ghosting. Avoid until full release

the game looks great! im wondering what other activities the game has...i mean you just join in a hunt party and kill the boss all the time? it becomes kinda repetitive

But it actually isn't repetitive. I have played through Monster hunter world in co-op with my brother, the whole campaign plus endgame, have more than 300 hours, and I still can jump in to slay monsters whenever I want coz the combat is just amazing, it never gets old or boring.

Monster hunter might be an acquired taste for some, though play any installment in the series and soon enough you get bit by the bug. It's over from there for most people. Been a fan since the PSP days, once you get in the rhythm of things it becomes the perfect chill out game to play for hours or in short spurts, it's great.

No magic or anything like that but different weapons have different like super attacks that work off combo inputs. Armor has passive skills. The hunting horn can play songs that give you and your team buffs.

@@Cripleo I felt the same way until I finally took the dive and made it a point to take my time trying out the weapons to figure out what I wanted to play, and now I'm irreversibly hooked with over 400 hours total in world, and 100 in Rise. Give it a shot, and be open to it being a slow burn at first; it doesn't stay that way once you're actually comfortable with the systems

Theres nothing wrong with this gameplay. Jts the average player experience watching the spectacle and fighting. Not knowing when tk run in and when to not. I'm all fr dogging actual bad gameplay but his ain't it

Not a fan of how the monsters run away and you have to continuously chase them down and hack away for what feels like half an hour. The games are artistically beautiful but the gameplay just hasn't seemed to evolved in the last 15 years unfortunately.
