@@noahdavis7406 The reviewer is clearly able to put his bias aside and admit that a 20 year old game with a new paint job, doesn't automaticaly bring it to the same level as a RDR2. Simply put, it's a great game, but doesn't do anything astounding in today's standards. Let's put it this way. There are no flaws with Pac man, but that doesn't mean it deserves a 10/10. So the same reason why most people wouldn't give Pac man a 10, is the same reason why the reviewer gave this an 8.5. TLDR; It's not that the game has flaws, but rather that it doesn't achieve anything amazing.

Man… playing the trilogy made me bust out the ps1 version of all 3 original games. Holy cow man. I’m almost 32 now and 2 of my oldest “longest lasting” friendships just passed a couple years ago and I cry every time I just hear the music on some of the worlds. Crazy man I remember it all like it was just yesterday. I’ll always reminisce on those good old Spyro night sleep overs with those two friends. Those two friends were brothers but we knew each other from birth so growing up with them playing all these games, Spyro really is so fucking sacred to me. People pick on me about how much I love it but they will never understand. Wonder if anyone else has any stories about playing Spyro growing up?

Toys for Bob did an outstanding job with the Reignited Trilogy. We uploaded a full video podcast where we brake down the original series and remastered. We concluded that Toys for Bob was very faithful to the original concepts of the game carried out by the original creators, Insomniac games. The music was done by Stewart Copeland who reimagined the theme songs for todays standards. It was an incredible experience to play this remastered series. When the game loaded in the Artisan world, I was blown away and in awe of the beauty of the game as if it was 1998, all over again...COME CHECK US OUT and share the love of Spyro! I'd love to see the gaming industry re-imagine the 3D platforming genre. I feel like its been gone for so long, and I really miss it. I know most of them are collect-athons with a kiddish appeal, but they can be so much more when done by the right studio! A game like Psychonauts comes to mind. Or even Mini Ninjas. I'm sure you guys can think of others. Great games that just kinda stick with ya long after playing them. The industry needs more of those.

I remember when I played Spyro 20 years ago. I was 8 years old and is one of the games that makes me love 3d platforming collect-a-thon’s. The others being Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario 64 ( of all games ). Spyro had a charm that rivaled with Banjo Kazooie. Fluent movements, beautiful soundtrack, memorable worlds and overall wacky characters. I may just have found a reason to get a PlayStation 4.

Don't know why everyone acts like PS1 games were all digital controls. Spyro 1 onwards and Crash 2 onwards had analog support. Spryo 1 had like 4 animation cycles for different speeds.

Used to take turns playing these games on PS1 with my cousins when I was 5. Then played a bunch of them on GBA and DS. Can hardly remember the 3 OG ones and I just downloaded this on Xbox so I'm super excited to delve back in and see if I unlock any core memories

I think that, true Spyro fans will ignore the review, and will be like "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!" Like me. The thing with reviews is, that everyone can judge a game differently. Some may judge graphics over game play, and the other way around. For me it's just gameplay, as long as that little purple guy moves well enough, I have nothing else to complain about.

@@tritanproductions Some people aren't affected by it, but a lot of people are. That's great that your eyes didn't hurt but they should still allow us to control how much motion blur there is or allow us to turn it off at least.

The score doesn’t start at 10/10 and work itself down with every negative comment. His score indicated that he thought it was “great”. I wouldn’t give every game I think is great a 10/10 The score is more of a recommendation rather than a precise weighing of pros and cons

The one game that actually got me to rage quit was Spyro Reignited Trilogy, especially how much harder those dang Speedways were thanks to the timer going out much quicker and don't even get me started on Gulp! Next day I erased ALL of its data and took it right back to GameStop and never looked at it again each time I walked into the store. I mean I LOVED Spyro as a kid, but did they REALLY have to make the remake of Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage THAT DIFFICULT? And the three PS1 Spyro games were a BREEZE to beat back then! I remember getting 100% on both the PS1 versions of Ripto's Rage AND Year of the Dragon! The difficulty level for said remastered games on the Switch? VERY INSANE.

Asael Romo I don't think he's bad at what he does but I don't like him, he irritates me. I think it's mostly the way he speaks always makes it sound like he's trying to be smart, but a lot of the stuff he says is either dumb or unoriginal. usually just a collection of other ppl around him's thoughts. And it feels like he rarely has any opinions himself. But tbf that's what ign want most of the time and it makes it easier to get your foot in the door and get established. But it's more of a translator than some one who thinks for themselves. Someone who just collects opinions and presents them in concise way.

Love the remake but the OG trilogy on ps1 is still my preferred way to play. Something about their graphics and skyboxes are just so charming to me and are a huge part of my enjoyment of the games.

my complaint, and i havent even played the game (so im part of the objective audience) is that, without mentioning any negatives i dont understand why an 8.5, The 10s for games like TW3, GOW and RDR2 are usually well explained and after playing them its impossible not to notice, but an 8.5 (which is possibly the correct rating) just makes me wonder if there's something he is not telling us
