Such a beautiful sound throughout the virtuoso performance. Incidentally (and trivially), he looks like Sting in this photo ...

I have been playing this on piano for years and still love playing it. Alicia de Larrocha introduced me to Granados in her recordings.This is an inspired performance on guitar. David Russell has played this suite how I always hoped it would sound with the warmth and vibrato of the guitar unavailable to the piano. Thank you.

This is one damn hard piece, David Russell has both balls and skill that's almost too much for one man.

Exquisite transcription by Mr. Russell! Granados ear had the guitar in mind for many of his piano works. Kudos for Mr. Russell!
Oh my God that's beautiful music. How refreshing it is to the soul.

Absolutely magnificent ! I still would have to put Bream's performance ahead of this, but we are talking about slight nuances of brilliance at this level.

He must publish this transcription, cause there are so many that are not good enough.
Abrazo a usted y a María!

This is beautiful. Check out also for Rémi Boucher's version (here on youtube, but better on his cd), which is no doubt less accurate academically speaking, but which is very passionate!

Yes I like Bream version as much as this and prefer the Romanillos. I'm not sure if this is on the Frederich or the Damman? Russell briefly played on another exceptional make I don't recall.

I know this is a recording and you can edit it as much as you want but D. Russell is an amazing musician. One of the very few guitarists who knows what he is doing.
@benide198910 жыл бұрын
I heard him play this live recently at Spivey Hall. I'm sure this was edited some, but to tell you the truth to me it sounded just as good live.
@riojimatsuoka10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I believe you. He gave a masterclass and a concert at the conservatory where I was studying back then and he really made me feel that I had a long way too go even though I was already a pretty good player. Going to see him in July in London and I am pretty excited. What I like about D. Russell is that he always comes up with new material.

@josemiguelsanchez14029 жыл бұрын
Bocazas.
@hectorjazz79 жыл бұрын
@evaristolucas73679 жыл бұрын
@Pablo_Olais9 жыл бұрын
Si, no son para guitarra originalmente.
@Pablo_Olais9 жыл бұрын
