RIP Ignatius. What a torturous week with the news of his passing. A complete trailblazer who challenged Australia's musical and artistic landscape. Like A Ghost remains THE ultimate Synth-pop track Australia produced. The world without Ignatius is a HELL one! .... Heartbroken x

Wow, a random search and this song came up. SO many memories, and bittersweet as well as I also read that he recently passed.

Loved it when I was a kid, still love it now. I recall this was written by Steve Kilbey (lead singer of The Church). Fantastic track.

I used to go dancing at “alternative” bars in Montreal and when this played, the dance floor was full!!! Great memories!

Neat. I heard Steve Kilbey singing this today, and it brought me here. I had no idea that he wrote it! Used to love it in the 80s.

I laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh. My sister and I were watching old 80's VHS video's I had recorded.... and this little piece of work came on. Our jaws dropped, we looked at one another with that WTF look and then proceeded to laugh, rewind, and laugh some more. This definitely wins the award for cheesiest 80's video and song ever! It's now forever on my Halloween Party play list.

What a good alternative song that I remember so well ! It was the 12"version that was spinning in the clubs when I was younger. I wish someone would post the 12"version. Thx.

Peaked at No. 83 on the Australian Singles Chart and No. 38 or 39 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Charts in 1982, I believe. Pretty cool and slightly odd New Wave/ dance track.

um...if ANYone thinks this is "the cheesiest" video of that period (or any), may i refer you to bowie/jagger & "dancing in the streets". and there are others! although a terrific song (that charted in the states, actually), this video is obviously not representative; ignatius jones is an amazing artist and performer -- and i'm proud to say has become one of the best friends i've ever had. he's gone on to an incredible career in event planning (things like the Sydney & Beijing Olympics... it's serious ; ). and has so much terrific music from this period! and all-time favourite of mine, for sure. thanks for the video! xo shaylie

@3000w0000w0000 ..LOL..I somehow missed this one back in the 80's. It's the radio frequency-tuning-in-sound during the chorus that really makes it unusual.
