Your thoughts here are so useful Scott! Awesome insight into Speaking. I'll be using those techniques at Ignite Denver 20. Cheers!!

I am thinking of pitching to do a "Ted Ignite" talk and I've never spoken in public. Don't know how to do a slideshow. But you just ignited me to do the pitch, and worry later. But I have an important message to spread for my readers. Thanks for this fabulous video!

Speaker burned an entire minute talking about the value of storytelling... and then didn't tell a single story in the entire presentation. I'm not saying his presentation wasn't useful: it was informative, full of useful tips, but I find it strange that his advice was "find a story to tell" instead of "share practical tips" since he was doing the latter.

I wouldn't have to fear the reaper if I didn't point a gun in my head... That gun is the 15 pass seconds out of control. You are telling me not to fear the gun in my head that I put myself... Better no to put that fucking gun and not fear> "Hack" is just put another slide? Fuck man, this format just slaves the way to give presentation, is not more liberty. I would like to hack the system to pass the presentation whenever I want but FUCK NO, that's not ignite, not fuck this.

TheKaliche calm down, it's a presentation format.

TheKaliche, You have a great point, but success in life, a lot of times depends on looking for and exploring other alternatives we might consider outrageous. The speaker is only suggesting a format, he is not promising the solution to every problem in the world.
