My mom was born in Harlan, her dad died in a coal mine, and they lived in a camp. She was born in 1937, and her daddy died when she was 11 years old. She loved Loretta Lynn and often sang Coal Miners Daughter during karaoke. I think the mine was called clovsplint? I'd love to find it and visit, including this wonderful museum! Id pay triple to visit. It brought me close to my grandpa and mom, who are both together now in heaven. ❤❤❤ you dont know what your video means to me 😢 Thank you both! ❤

We've been to Lynch several times with our church to do community works with Lonnie Riley, this was one of the places that I wanted to come see, as my Grandpa was a miner when they used carbide lamps but, we never did have the time ! I thank you fellers for taking the time to make this video, it was very informative and interesting !! I'm from Johnson County Kentucky, same place as Mrs. Loretta, we used to ride horses all over Butcher Holler and one day Loretta's brother, Herman Webb gave us kids a RC cola, cause man it was a hot day that day ! They were good people !

this was real cool & neat place. Glad they let u film. I'll have to go there & support them because of that & check out all the cool stuff! You'd think places be more filming friendly for getting more their facility out there & get people in. Ghost stuff was Soo cool!! I'm in central KY.

Awesome video of this building to show memories of the coal mining days! And having items that relate to Loretta Lynn are fitting for this. Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA.

I remember Vic and Elsie Sizemore well . They were from Harlan , and best I can remember they lived in the Fairview area . Vic worked at Harlan Hardware for as long as I can remember . I still have a few things I bought from him many years ago . Maybe they donated the refrigerator to the museum , could be why their picture is there . Another great video , thank you .

The glass was in front of the picture tube to make it easier to clean..... CRTs operate at high voltages, and the screen would attract dust. That pop machine is early '70s My grandparents had a hutch like that, the top was enameled steel. Going in a coal mine takes a better person than me. I have been up to the front of a mine , and that's close enough for me. That museum looks like a hoot...
