I love the first part, up to 4:33: warm, bright majestic brassy timbres and big wide chords in classical style.

Sounding great! Your patches really show what is possible with this amazing synth. I like that I’m not hearing a lot of rhythmic aspects to these patches. I hope that any rhythmic aspects of the final patches will be easy to disable.

that's part of the design plan. - It's actually built into alot of I2 presets as well. This one I'll keep it in mind at all times however.

Happy to see you’re back, right now I’m trying to decide between the Novation summit and one of the hydrasynths, which one do you think offers more sound design real estate? I’ve tried the summit at a guitar center and I really like how it sounds and I like the idea of the Summit’s analog filters but does it really add that much to the character? Could I get from a VST the same that I can get from a hydrasynth in that regard?

Right now I have a Prophet Rev 2, Bass Station 2 and Moog Sub 37

I'm pretty biased. IMO The summit's sound is pretty much unrivaled. Hydrasynth is alot of fun to design sounds on and while the palette is wider, I prefer the lush sound of the summit. It has the best reverb of any synth ever, and arguably one of the best reverb and chorus among even boutique pedals. I don't own a big sky anymore because running anything through summit's reverb tends to sound better. Go summit. It's the Only a synth I've never sold since purchasing and there's a reason. But also you should still get a hydrasynth eventually lol. Also fun fact, if you get a new summit, chances are it'll have a higher end DAC built in, as Novation switched from AKM to cirrus logic. While it may not be a big deal to some, the DAC they're running now is significantly a step up in many regards. Not sure if anyone would ever tell a difference, but that's info I got direct from Focusrite/novation rep. Anywho. Good luck with the synth purchase.e

@@MajorOSC thanks for your response! Damn I didn’t even know that! I might have to get a brand new one then as I was considering getting a used one, why not get a warranty along with the new features right Weirdly enough, despite the popularity, you’re the only youtuber that has a decent patch collection for the summit/ peak for sale so thank you for that! I guess that will be the next big Polysynth I’ll save up for, I was considering the Polybrute too but I really strongly dislike the keybed on that synth, it feels so cheap, I just don’t like the arturia keybed I guess. My other question for the hydrasynth then would be which one should I get? Is the keyboard version really worth it for the modulation Ribbon? I think that’s a pretty key feature of the synth for me and with the desktop being so cheap, and the keyboard being so much more and on top of that now the explorer and deluxe are coming out?! There’s a lot to take in now when it comes to approaching which version of the hydrasynth is worth considering.

@@MajorOSC also how does a Summit compare to a real analog poly like a Prophet 10 ? I’m assuming it’s two totally different ballparks.
@MajorOSC3 жыл бұрын
@@vincenzoaquila167 superior in every conceivable way. P10 could be the most boring polysynth ever made. I sold mine and never looked back.

Ignition 3!! Yeah!! By the way, i wonder if you're considering making patches for the new Deluxe edition, making use of the multi mode/splits/layers?

I'm just curious what major osc is using for drum sounds there in the back round 😁
@MajorOSC3 жыл бұрын
Those are drum sequences I programmed on the Pioneer SP-16. The samples come from all over but lately I've been getting most of my drums from splice, as finding what I need for demos like this is almost effortless. Then I just cue in a beat when appropriate

Also wondering what's your take on the deluxe edition. Are you fine with the 49 kb version as is - or considering upgrading to the 73 kb version?
@MajorOSC3 жыл бұрын
I'll be making the switch. Ignition 3 will feature a single bank and multi bank. That Multi-Bank will be designed using the Delux, but the singular parts will be available for non-deluxe owners to load as single patches.

As someone that owns both, I love the HS’s ability to produce very unique, and almost wave-sequencing sounding LFO patches. With that said, I love the Iridium for completely different reasons.

As another owner of both, ya' gotta have a controller for the Iridium, what could be better than the the Hydra?
