Note! If your front wheels are pointing straight ahead (and not turned, this will NOT help you). This situation occurs regularly to many unsuspecting vehicle owners/drivers, who "turn their steering wheels" sharply just before turning off their ignition keys (like in a parking lot). After the driver turns off their ignition key, the wheel "twists back" up against the antitheft feature built into the steering column. In an unintended way, this holds onto the lock cylinder through its linkage, preventing the operator from turning the ignition key successfully until the "torsional load" is removed from the steering input shaft (by turning the steering wheel the other way). The system works great, until this happens. Luckily, you can get out of this situation easily.

The first time this happened to me I was stuck in a parking lot at a Walgreens and discovered I had accidentally left my cell phone at home. Out of desperation, I went into Walgreens and found a man standing in line at the photo counter who offered to come out and see if he could fix it. When I described the problem, he seemed to know what to do. He showed me how to fix it and it is exactly what you explain here. What a relief and I was so grateful for the help. This happened to me again today and I remembered what to do to solve the problem myself. I know your video was posted long ago but I am so glad you are getting the word out to save other people from the aggravation. Thanks.

If your situation matches what I'm showing, then the following words will likely be true..... If you go and LOOK at the front wheels of your vehicle, and they are, for example, pointing to the left, then get into your vehicle and physicality turn your steering wheel slightly "more" to the left, while at the same time turning the key! If the key turns, that means the ignition lock theft lock system was jammed against the ignition lock cylinder. If you look at the front wheels, and they are turned to the right, then you will need to hop in the vehicle, and proceed to turn the steering wheel slightly "more" to the right...... Hold the wheel, and turn the ignition key. I hope this helps.

This is awesome! We have the 2006 fx45 infinity with the electronic fob, intelligent starting mechanism. It started on the first try. I have told my wife to let the steering wheel relieve itself from stress, while turning into our driveway, before turning the engine off.
