Installing this Fat Fox ignition relocation kit did not cause damage to the engine.

After installing the module relocation and reading more on the manufacturers website.
I believe I installed it incorrectly for the kit I was given. This explains why the Fat Fox module did not allow the ignition to working properly. Also remember I was given this kit with out any instructions. Probably should have contacted the manufacturer for the instructions. Don't be like me.

Just to add to your observations to your video, the bolt location that you chose. On my SBF it is the mounting hole for the original emissions air pump. Great video, most would not have posted it, since the job didn't go well. Thankyou for posting it, jobs aren't always roses. Have a great day sir.

@@showmerepair I wasn't aware of the aftermarket TFI relocation kits. Looks like a great idea, for this problem prone part.

This was might first time learning of them as well. They sell several different kits. I would recommend contacting the company to figure out which kit would work best for the application.

@@showmerepair definitely, but I have saw the aluminum heat sink for sale at rockauto, so since all a person would need/want is a TFI pigtail, the heat sink, some wiring then making one would quite straight forward.

Hey Chris. Where are you located? I've been searching for your contact information. I just ordered a scangauge3 for my 2003 f250 with the 6.0, curious about your recommendations on scan gauges or tuners for my truck.

Scan gauge can not tune the truck for more power. What’s your question?

I understand the scan gauge will only scan, just curious which scanner you prefer for monitoring or diagnosing issues. I believe this scan gauge will show icp sensor, ipr valve, ficm main power and the sync, which is primarily what I am wanting to see. As far as a tuner, I wanted your opinion on using one for potential reliability with the truck. Fixing potential issues down the road. I am happy with the performance and fuel economy when it is running correctly. It's been out of commission for awhile, hopefully I'm on the right track to getting it back on the road. Your videos are a great help. Thank you.

I see. The scan gauge does great at showing all the info you want. The down side is the small screen on the original scan gauge. I know they offer a larger screen now. I like the SCT livewire. Larger screen shows everything your wanting see and allows to clear codes. And tune for power if interested. For a good diagnostic tool I recommend Forscan. Need a laptop and OBD2 connector.

That is a horrible place to mount it and defeats the purpose of relocating it.

Not going to argue with that statement. I actually just replaced the engine in this car and got rid of this relocation.

What "mechanic" doesn't do an EXTREMELY easy diag BEFORE you just installing parts?? Really? And a sbf and sbc ARE THE EASIEST TO trouble shoot!! Oh wait let me guess your just a "let me plug my tablet in to the obd port and swap whatever parts it tells me too " kind of "mechanic" so if it's a pre 1994 without obd2 your stuck right?

Customer brought the kit with, so install it. Are you going to do a 100 point inspection of all cars coming in to the fuel pump to fill fuel? Yes engine is toast, but if customer says they think ignition module is bad, which is very common, and have both the kit and new module, are you going to change engine oil and flush transmission fluid, plus replace brake fluid, all as well for free in the install of the kit?

Engine ran when it came to me. I had spent a lot of time testing electrical system suspecting something was causing the engine to hiccup. Engine sounded fine. This being an 1986 the diagnostics system was not very reliable. You couldn’t rely on the codes to lead you in a good direction. Hope you have a good day.
