Ignitron ECU Install on our 1.8T Track Car !!

Just as a note for here.. as folks will read this comment, the stock mapped me7.5 ecu would have had the heater diagnosis coded out I bet as part of decat type map that was on it.. so it masked the heater fault I think. Ignitron tells it how it is.. You can also select which faults you wish to take note of (EML light etc) from those you dont.. eg, if you have battery master switch, the voltage error can be annoying, but in fault codes you can untick the box which flags it.. Its an incredibly flexible user friendly ecu, which is why I luv it sooooo much!

On apx code i suspect wideband conversion is also necessary ?

Yes, it is plug and play for ME7.5 ECU's, I believe APX is ME7.1 Narrowband. Youd need to add the extra bits for wideband. It's pretty easy in all honesty.

You using a base map you have Nick? Is the plan to live map it or get it on dyno?

Alright mate, theres a base file wizard in the software which when you input the options, generates a base map. It's very crude but it does get you started. I plan on doing the bulk of the mapping on the road, then maybe some testing and tweaking on the rollers at some point.
