Iguazu Falls is one of the main themes that I composed for the series Wonders of the Solar System. I wanted to compose a theme that had both a feeling of energy/movement and also beauty and wonder.
The opening fast repeating ostinato figures represent the small water droplets that come together and fall as rain at the start of the cycle. This culminates in the wondrous Iguazu waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Argentine province of Misiones and the Brazilian state of Paraná.
They are the largest waterfalls system in the world. I recorded this theme with an orchestra in Budapest.
