Greetings from Sydney, Australia mate, love your videos. They were a big help in me learning how to use the Planix Pro a year ago. Any chance you could do a comparison video with the new Planix R1 camera just announced today? It looks epic. Keep up the good work. Cheers

@@sparksmediagroup Quick question Tom, iGuide looks more complicated than a Matterport what are the benefits of the iGuide over the Matterport if at all ?

@@RealEstateTorontoPhotography One of the advantages is the floorpan and room measurement that come standard with every tour. I shot a 6100 sq ft home in 103 scans right at 45 minutes. You can also edit and replace the panos.

do you normally scan outside?

it depends on the order the agent places, sometimes we do, sometimes we don't.

Hi thank you for the informative video. I am confused what you meant by having to go back because you did not record a video. What should I ensure I do to avoid this mistake, as I cannot find anything about this? Thank you, Steph

I went back to record the youtube video, nothing in regards to the iguide.

In terms of timing. How do you know when you are clear to walk back into the scene without being in the shot? I notice you walk back to the camera before the wheel stops spinning.TIA!

Hi. Can you use iGuide Core (without Camera) only for scans and 2d floor plans (i you dont need virtual tour) ?

I don't think so but I haven't tried it.

@@sparksmediagroup What device/program or method would you recomend in this situation ( without using expensive scanners like leica rtc/blk). Can you recomend something faster than hand mesurement (with laser mesure and draving "by hand" on site) ?

Hey Tom, I was wondering how you handled hosting of your matterport spaces. Do you include a time period that the files are hosted for when creating tours? Thanks so much for the content, I've been learning a lot from you!

Can you skip scanning closets if the accuracy of their inner dimensions is not important? Scanning them seems time consuming and it's not crucial for me.
@sparksmediagroup Жыл бұрын
In order to get the most accurate floorplan (not just for measurements but also layout) i'd recommend scanning closets. I've almost missed rooms because I thought they were a small coat closet. It's just good practice and 4-6 scans doesn't add that much more time

@@sparksmediagroup thanks for the response. I was also curious about the processing speed per scan, I wonder if the processing takes place on the device running the website or the unit itself? Just curious if the faster the tablet the faster the overall process goes.
@sparksmediagroup Жыл бұрын
Processing is done after the fact.. having a really fast tablet wouldn't speed up the capture process imho as no data is written to the tablet unlike matterport. with iGuide everything is written to a thumb drive.

Hi, I don't believe they charge for outside spaces, you'll want to contact iGuide support to verify.

I may be in the minority, but I like to have my Planix camera facing the same direction for every shot (typically toward the front of the house). Makes for much easier manual alignment if the auto-alignment fails.
@sparksmediagroup11 ай бұрын
I started with the IMS-5 and had to learn to manually align each scan so I never got into the habit of pointing the camera in a set direction each time I started. personally, I think it would slow down the shoot time a bit by ensuring its facing the same direction each time but if it helps you be more accurate then go for it!
