Great video! May I ask if you could link where I can grab a uniform vest like what you wear for my business? 😊

Merchology is the hookup! That one is a north face vest. They do individual units & brand name clothes, so it really holds up, that vest has been washed 100 times and is still in great shape. Glad you like the video!

Great video! Now that you've used the Matterport pro 3, what is your preferred device? It seems the iGuide is only creating a 2D lidar scan that wouldn't be able to create a complete point cloud. It wouldn't be as useful to export to some other 3D modelling software.

Straight to the point, how is pricing on virtual tours? Is it per square foot?

Yes always by the square foot for scanning, depends on your market but we always charging a base price and a square foot rate by job and size

Hi Emily. Very good video and very informative! Do you know if after the "professional draftsman" makes a floor plan will they send you an AutoCAD drawing file (or DXF)?

Hello Emily, I have a few questions: what is the duration of one shoot ( with matterport it is about 40sec)? Can you put tags and if yes which type of content can you put in the tags ( youtube links, text, picture,...)? Many thanks in advance.

Hello, can you export a point cloud file from the data taken with the camera system? Thanks
@HopscotchInteractive3 жыл бұрын
Yes! However it is 2D not 3D - they are collecting a 2D point cloud of measurement data and 360 JPEGs for the virtual tour. The floor plan files are available in DXF, SVG, PDF and JPEG. If you download the offline iGUIDE from the report they generate then you can get all of those files.

What items do you recommend to get started with the iguide. I’m a home inspector in Iowa wanting to expand into real estate photography. And how much $ investment would be needed? Thanks for your time
@HopscotchInteractive2 жыл бұрын
iGuide is not expensive to get started. If you purchase the system with the camera that's probably the best deal, but we already had a camera so we have calibrated it ourselves. I think you would spend about $2599, plus tripod and clamp (not that much) and I run it off of an iPad Pro which is about $1099 + tax (wifi only is fine), you might want to get some additional USB sticks because after forgetting them on a couple of jobs, I started keeping them in my wallet and in the glove compartment in my car just in case! But that's all small. The investment would be more of your time to learn the system, so plan to spend a day or so getting familiar with Stitch, and the different types of iGuides (Radix, etc.). Thanks and good luck. If you're a home inspector you'll love it. Just be prepared to have a variable bill every month depending on the number of scans

Hi Dylan, yes it would work very well in a manufacturing facility. I know people who have done very large spaces. We did our second project in about 20,000 square feet in about 1.5 hrs

@@HopscotchInteractive Also can you convert these to dwg files or is it locked in their system?
@HopscotchInteractive3 жыл бұрын
@@dylannahm3007 I believe they have DFX files native to their capture but not DWG. If DFX can be converted (Googles) then it might be a very compelling reason to use this system. I do not know if that can be imported as a point cloud but will do some research

Nothing is locked into their system that I know of, it’s all on the flash drive but I will check it out

So basically all this system is is a Ricoh Zeta with CubiCasa but instead this does it all but the floor plans are more expensive. $25 for CubiCasa versus the $50 IGUIDE So why would anyone buy this when they can do a floor plan in under 5 minutes with CubiCasa and $25 cheaper Thx for your review I was going to buy this but it’s just better to buy a zeta by itself Half of my inspections I see the Matterport guy come in with either a Matterport or zeta scanner
@HopscotchInteractive2 жыл бұрын
The floor plans alone are much less expensive with Cubicasa, but it would be a huge challenge I think to do a large space like 20,000 square feet with Cubicasa! So, this gives you the freedom to have as large of a spaces as you have, as well as getting the integrated virtual tour. It's brilliant for showing detached spaces as different floors on one tour, and in that regard is a better solution for when you have that scenario. I would 100% get the Z1, and please note that if you install it yourself in their system it's not "fully calibrated", but if you get their Pro set-up with the camera already installed it will be fully calibrated.
@allennewland97493 жыл бұрын
I meant to ask this a moment ago, what iPAD case/strap system are you using? It looks perfect for our needs.
Interesting review, thanks Emily! I'm architect and I want to buy one of these two systems but I'd like to understand who has the better measure accuracy. In your experience iGUIDE make the difference against Matterport?
@HopscotchInteractive3 жыл бұрын
Hi Antonio! Are you doing your plans in 3D or 2D? Matterport can get you better 3D plans, but iGuide can get you hyper accurate 2D plans (better than Matterport I think). But, if you are dealing with sloping roofs or other unusual geometry, the Matterport may be the better way for you! But if you get the iGuide I believe getting the iGuide Planix Pro is the better option because it has been specially calibrated for better accuracy. I didn't realize this and wish I had known that or understood it before I bought the Core system, but I already had an iGuide. Let me know if you need referral codes...Matterport and iGuide are both doing sales and I can help you get like $300 off a Matterport I think and then also several free iGuides if you use my codes.

@@AntonioBova there is a 3D point cloud from Matterport that can be purchased for $49 per model, or there's a 2D .dxf file that can be downloaded from the iGuide portal, but iGuide doesn't have a 3D point cloud. Good question, so they actually show you the billable area on your account next to each project before you are billed for it. The price for exteriors is really cheap, but it's definitely more expensive inside. They use the drafted model to estimate the "billable area".

Emily, thanks for your presentation. After 40 years of teaching kids, adults and teachers in everyday and technical photography and imaging, the words that came to mind was preparation and editing. You have an interesting alternative to Matterport but your argument is confusing. I did a mess of cubic images using my Manfrotto VR gear and trusty PTGui. Yeah, time is an issue there but I had absolute image control with companion software to imprint my logo on the nadir image.
