Can't believe you left it there that long ! I would have taken it back after 7 months. I'd deduct the cost of the turbo off his bill too, if the turbo was good and he was dumb enough to leave it out in the weather he should pay for it.

Good to see the 806 back and working. That would suck to wait that long and have that much wrong with something.🍻🍻🍻🍻

At least the 806 is alive again. It's hard to get good mechanic work these days. Even the big dealerships are lacking experienced people.

There are also differences like on a case ih magnum, a 7220, and 7240 have the same cube engine people think they turn the pump way up, but do they realize the radiator is larger on a 7240, and an intercooler.

I'm glad you got the 806 back, it's to bad the mechanic didn't fix everything on it like you expected, if you took it to a IH dealer that sometimes you might have to spend a few bucks more for the parts & labor, are you ready for Christmas? 🎅🌲🎁🚜
@hartungdairyfarm07136 ай бұрын
In this case I would've been way better off sending it to the local ih shop. Live and learn. Hope you had a good Christmas, it was a muddy mess here

From a person with real experience, the 806 engine was not equipt with piston cooling nozzles, a turboed engine from factory would come with those, im not saying people havent gotten by putting them on engines that were not designed for a turbo, BUT it will most certainly shorten its life. There are things you can get by with like turning up the pump 15% with out much incident. I hope u find the info valuable.
@hartungdairyfarm07136 ай бұрын
I've kinda known there were differences in the dt motors vs the regular ones. When my dad had his 806 with the turbo, it cracked the block, I'm sure because it was not meant for the extra hp, and that tractor did all the heavy work back in the day. I don't really need any extra power out of my 806 anymore. It used to be my big tractor years ago, but like you said, it's probably better off without the turbo. Thanks

The engine in my truck needs rebuilding. So it sits and I have to use a bicycle to get around. I have never used a mechanic, if I cannot fix it myself I will get rid of it. Had to restore some rigs someone did to the van. Had fun making my own fuel lines. The real fun comes when you have to make your own Diesel injection lines!

Probably the way to go, hoping someone will do a good job fixing without a monstrous bill is getting rare.

I'm glad you got the 806 back and working. That sure sucks all of the stuff that wasn't right on it, especially the turbo. Did you get all of your parts back? The 856 I worked on got run for 8 hrs here before it went home. What happened with the 930? You mentioned it ticking or something awhile back. Also Merry Christmas if you don't post another video before 😅👍
@hartungdairyfarm07136 ай бұрын
Yep, I got everything back. The 930 needs overhauled too, it's got a bad piston. A friend of mines son is going to tech school for ag mechanics, so he is going to do the work on the 930 for a school project. Works out good, he's got a project to learn on and I don't have to pay labor 👌👌

I hope his teacher knows something about old 💩 then 🤣🤣 Well regardless, that one should get fixed in a more timely fashion. I often hesitate to take on a job when time may be of importance... cattle and the weather can sure screw up a time-line. Will we ever see the Magnum off the spreder? 🤣🤣 catch ya later 👍

WTF 😳 hell, when I was 14, I was fixing 🤬ups like most of that... A turbo with the straight pipe will be a lot quieter!! Keep track of your time and whatever parts you've had to get to fix his 🐂💩.. including a new turbo!! And send him a bill.

Thanks for the videos! What kind of lights did you put in that 806?
@hartungdairyfarm07136 ай бұрын
I think they're called par 36 lights. They're actually a garden light from Amazon, but they seem to work really good and are pretty cheap. I've had them in my 1586 and 766 about 3 years and no troubles. Thanks for watching, hopefully things are going good your way

if I were you I’d be raging at all the shit that guy screwed up and then to take over a year and a half. I’d send the bill back and have him refigure what it should really be factoring in how long it took and the issues you dealt with after the fact or else lawyer up
