IH Farmall Cub Collector Sells Out!

once upon a time, I had a barn full of International Harvester (IH) Farmall Cubs and equipment.This 1978 model with Fast hitch and deluxe seat is the last to go. I am selling it with an LF-193 FH plow, 54 Cub Grader/Snow Blade, 22 Cub Mower with a spare parts mower, 101 Fast Hitch Rollover Plow, F-38 single cut disc, 144 cultivators, belt pulley drive, Cole single row fast hitch planter and a full pallet of new and used parts to include a new top-quality carburetor, new front rims, tubes and tires, hydraulic and PTO rebuild kits, carb rebuild kits, and much more!

Sweet deal! Wish I was closer, I would snap that right up. I am looking for a planter near middle Tennessee. I have extra sweeps & chisels/shovels for 144. An extra fast hitch for a 140 if anyone is looking. I might have to go up to Maine!

I can't remember right off but does that Cub have basically the same horsepower as the Super A? That's an outstanding deal for anybody wanting a good Cub with a fast hitch.

Yes. A super A is about 15 HP as well. This cub will haul a full load of manure all day long

I did sell off all of my Cubs and equipment, yes. I kept the 140 and Super C that are occasionally in my videos

Tom, I hope you see this and can get back to me. I am late subscribing and missed seeing this Cub while you owned it. I really like the way you painted it, red with white hood and grill cowling. My question is though, could the larger 140 size steering wheel work on this model Cub? Would be good if it could!

Thank You. In my opinion, paint is always something that can be changed if a future owner didn’t like it, but it was kind of a nod toward the run of specialty ordered Canadian Cubs. The 140 steering wheel will not fit (as far as I can tell). It’s a larger wheel that fits like a 240, 340, 350, 404, etc.

If it a US 1978 would have been all red. If it was yellow i believe would have been 1975 and back.

absolutely not true. they were sold in both colors that year. before 1975, they were not a long stripe .

@@LedgemereHeritageFarm as an Ih dealer the only color cubs we were able to get in 76 and beyond were red. Don't remember any promotional. Now as for Canada market no clue. As for 75 I cand tell the early ones were yellow and white. Never had a white and red but the possibility I could see arrise in 75. If this is a 78 what was the promotion for that year for my knowledge because I can't find it in any of my 78 promotion guide from IH

@@neilkratzer3182 IH tractor dealers typically got red, and the yellow and white usually went to cub cadet dealers. The serial number on my cub checks out as a 1978. Mine came from a local IH dealer and still had the decals on it when I got it. The very last Cubs were red however. After 1975, they were all Longstripes with the zenith carburetor and 15HP motor

@@LedgemereHeritageFarm I was interested in the white in 78. The stripes I know. Just not ever seen or in our sales catalogs for a white hood in 78. Everything through the dealership at that time was all red.(US) Just was curious what or where was the white hoods sold and/ or for what reason. Just haven't seen it any of our dealer promo from that time.

@@neilkratzer3182 in 1964, IH had a deal with a bunch of Cubs going to Canada, but it fell through. They were painted red with a white hood. I liked that color, so I painted mine that way. The color of mine is incorrect for the year, I just thought it was a nice mix. You’re right, the red ones were all red. I suspect maybe your regional office may have had a hand in which ones you could order at the time. I have 2 different 1978 IH catalogs, one has red cubs, the other has yellow along with the cub cadets and IH lowboys
