These small rig videos are priceless! I am definitely learning a lot. I’m starting to like my rig more as I take out modules and simplify. Thank you!

I love the focus on building small systems! I have five small cases but they're all themed in one way or another to force myself to make some hard choices and force creativity. I've got an FX case with an Injectr for guitar processing, a drum synth case for minimal techno, a glitch/microsound case for idm, a crazy binaural stereo case for ambient music, and a monophonic bass case for acid lines. When I play live, I'll bring two cases with me and design a set around cross-patching the two different approaches. My favorites are the guitar/binaural combo and obviously the classic acid/drums.

This is a very nice approach of having several small rigs to choose from and then crosspatching to have different styles work together. Thanks for sharing!

Another great video! Also the best jam I've seen with QoP. For me the UI was too chaotic and illogical to enjoy. It requires constant attention. But I guess in a simple rack where it's the main character it works nicely
@boydw12 жыл бұрын
Very cool what you can get out of such a rack Ihor! YES, I'd like to see where you take this in 104HP. Something like the Ladik Composer-N (quantized 4HP turing machine) might perhaps be useful for generating pitch sequences in small racks..?

I use QoP with Eloquencer in my 4u modular case for a great portable techno drum modular setup. Works great with similar workflow to what I do on my Elektron boxes. Do you think Black Noir is worth getting to use for electronic music or keep QoP?
@saederkrupp2 жыл бұрын
You can route the kickdrum back into the aux of the qop so you can use the filter, drive and fx.
@IhorMedia2 жыл бұрын
Yes! There are many audio routing ideas with the Queen! But in this one I intentionally didn't want kick to be affected by the filter 😉

Can you route the Mixup directly to the case to enable you to slot something else in that position perhaps? There are a few options for that 1U HP size these days that could help a tiny bit in such a tiny case :)

Ok it sounds great BUT you could buy a groovebox for just the cost of the case/enclosure. I bet the total cost is over £2000.
@andrew15502 жыл бұрын
But you can't change out parts of the groovebox, you can't put in crazy sequencers that have euclidean patterns or random generators, you generally have only 1 or 2 global LFO's you can't combine multiple modulation sources in weird ways to create insane modulations. You probably need to spent £4000 Before you can make really interesting music with Just Eurorack. I find Eurorack is generally good for GAS as you can usually afford a new module every month, and you have a month to learn it and incorporate it in your rack, or you can sell it and get something else, if you buy used the only loss is usually the cost of shipping. Private Facebook groups are best for this. Before buying Eurorack stuff, I was spending Thousands on full sized synths like the Virus or Sub 37 to get my fix. If I were entering this hobby I would get a digitakt or TR8s first, then a Behringer TD3 or MS101 to try out a synthesizer to complement the drum machine, then a Behringer Neutron to try out modular, then a DFAM if you want to go further into modular, you are probably down less than £1200 at this point on used gear. After all of that then you can choose to go to Eurorack if it's something you feel you would use. By this stage you have decided that you are willing and able to spend the money on this very expensive hobby. In saying all of that, if you don't want to spend the money I find that Bitwig can do anything that I use my modular for although it doesn't sound as good, or you could use VCV Rack to simulate eurorack.
