I completely agree. I would pre-order if they had simple stuff like MK, SF, etc. But all the stuff being offered are those games no one really wants to play outside of double-dragon and dragons lair.

Completely agree with your points. I love my iiRcade for the $399 sale price...$1K is too much to ask with the current game library. Default controls on my Space Ace are impressive, but I wish it had legit Sanwas.

Hey, thanks for the honest review. I really appreciate it. It really became apparent yesterday that some of the other content creators I watch are more concerned with their relationship with iiRcade than giving an honest review to their subscribers. I love my iiRcade. I think it’s gorgeous. I think an extra $300 for a light up marque and some speaker software (whatever that is) was a bad move. One of the two best things IMO that iiRcade had going for it was it’s value and it’s unique design. I hope they didn’t just price themselves out of the market.

I bet the dead cell version will be a sell more then the other 3 since it the only non-classic arcade title cab that being made available but it could also be a slow sell who knows. I'm surprised that they're giving a non-classic arcade title it own cabinet. I know dead cell is a arcade style game but I find it quite interesting.

@@ravenspe sadly the commercial arcade industry is pretty much dead. most modern arcades nowadays are family friendly casino due to the stupid shift to redemption games. the classic arcade scene is still alive but not a whole of retro arcades are still in business. it a cut throat business due online video games

$800 not bad for enthusiasts...$1000 is a big pill to swallow. Cab is 10x better looking than before for sure. You laid out the big problem tho -- games. Not enough there to get people excited. That being said I think they see this as more a niche product and don't expect to do huge numbers like A1up so it may serve the target audience just fine.

I am going to buy the dead cell arcade cab but iiracade needs to get Capcom support and SNK support. And I must say Arcade1Up as terrible build quality they really don't last that long. And you have to modify them to even get your money's worth.

@@ravenspe oh I know from experience. I modified and old asteroids cabinet from arcade1up. I actually had to add wood on the inside so the thing would not fall apart but I have it so it can play any game with the help of a raspberry pi 3 b+. The arcade1up build quality is trash 🗑️.

Patents suggest swappable decks in the future. They also moved internal hardware in this latest model which further supports this. Hopefully soon! 👍

Every home arcade, officially licensed Android boxes, Evercade, even mini consoles, as well ACA/Hamster on the Switch and PS4, are using the same licensed games. Typically, Data East, Irem and Taito arcade ROMs, plus a few that Capcom and Konami are willing to pimp out. I do wonder why it is only these games which are continuously being chosen. Seriously, how many machines need Burger Time? However, I'm curious to know if these machines can actually handle more advanced systems. Can any of these systems (Sega's own Astro City Mini being the exception) handle a Sega System 32 and emulate them perfectly? What about more advanced 3D machines such as the Model 1 onwards? Heck, from what I have experienced most can't handle R-Type or any other of Irem's unique boards. Any thoughts?

No I haven't heard of anyone jailbreaking this. Gutting the cab and installing your own pi or whatever is always an option but it's not worth buying an iircade if gutting

The cabs look great but the sticking point for me is the lack of popular titles. Basically you end up with a better ALU but in a closed, smaller ecosystem. The marketing preview is pretty cringey too... are teenage girls the target demographic? Or even worse - is it trying to create some creepy aspirational connection? Eek!

The Space Invaders looks so nice. I might upgrade from my Retromania machine....maybe have both. I had heard they were getting space invaders and the next generation space invaders whatever that is? Any knowledge on that UC?
