There is no point of doing MSc from iit if you don't want to do PhD. If you are really interested in your subject and want to do research in it then I strongly recommend to do MSc from iit. You will easily land up in foreign for phd after iit, that's only the plus point otherwise there's no point. If you want to go to iit then go through jee, it will be great. iit tag for msc is just a myth, no one give a shit about it.Many coaching institute will fool you by saying there is job, tag bla bla but don't trust it. Instead,you can opt ssc cgl, bank po, railway, state pcs, regulatory bodies exam, Defence, airport anything.~ from iit Kharagpur pass-out.

@@rjhazarika6207 in chemistry, research on genetics isn't a widespread field for chemistry people. Worldwide top biochemical researches are going on mostly drugs, proteins, microorganisms, molecular dynamics....etc. If your research interest is genetics, then search for colleges in India where genetics is a course for masters or masters in genetics, if any , then it will definitely be a booster for you. If you want to pursue research in foreign, they accept Dual degree students... Masters +PhD.... Search for that also
