Even then if you are not using a clock but only percentile ,then the best five could all be in the one of the five races.That is they are better than all horses in the remaining races. Jee helpline query is either in English or Hindi. ( Inspite of pressing 1 option English, the personnels could communicate only in Hindi) Not everyone will be able to use this facility. are u mad?? do u have any idea how marks vs percentile?? when more number of students are situated means more number of high potential students will write the exam and the cutoff will skyrocket, meanwhile in other shifts even the low scoring potenial students with low marks will get 99 percentile(they are techincally undeserving students ), even an underperforming low scoring student will get high percentile, but the bright student who have good potential and got good score will get less percentile just because u got into a shift where there is huge number of students. this was the reason to have huge difference of 82 marks for same percenitle but in different shifts.Even nta knew this and thats y they didnt disclose the total number of students participating.

Please know that NTA never knows who are high potential and low potential students while allocating the shifts. Comparison of Students marks and percentile is based on the shift which has equal toughness level. Then what is question to compare with other shifts. Note that there is nothing like high potential or low potential students. Simply all are JEE aspirants.That’s it. All must be ready to face the exam sincerely. See other comments and even students commented the exam conduction is correct.Don’t confuse students in the name of opposing.Our students and we parents are brilliant.

Use common sense. False propaganda here. JEE assessment system is fair. Difficulty can vary between sessions. Percentile is given per session. So no issues at all. When test is very difficult one gets less marks but higher percentile. As smart student one should be happy with difficult paper. Everyone gets less mart. But you get top mark /rank among participating students. You get better percentile. Whatever difficulty levels it is you will get percentile according to your performance / rank. Simple and the BEST solution is to collect all test results and give the percentiles at the end, when all the data is available. Why did not anyone think of this simple approach? Also, are you not allowed to take the JEE again the same year? I do not know for sure. But if so, people who take the JEE starting from the first available date are at an advantage, and they can take it until they succeed, if they are good (prepared) enough for the exam. Let us not let reason come in the way of this meritocracy selection and destroy the great institution that IIT is, by means of selecting the best students.
