Sir in 47:45 you are saying that it can have two or more stable isotopes, but they are isobars?

I used a similar excel sheet for fixed A=137 and the minimum Z value was 57 (Lanthanum), not 56 (Barium) as shown at 14:22. Is there any particular reason for that?

What are the expressions for the constants a, b and c

Why is there so big difference in the half lives of Cs(30.2 yrs) and La(60,000 yrs) while they have almost equal Y co-ordinate? Same question in case of Xe and Ce.
@KumarSS._-_6 жыл бұрын
Beta minus decay is favoured by mass energy conservation principle but beta plus is not. That is the reason beta plus decay never occur in free state and proton is stable. This process can occur in bound state but probability remains low as compared to beta minus decay. Hence the longer life time for La than Cs.
@gautamdash1935 жыл бұрын
@@KumarSS._-_ yes.. Actually more energy is needed for beta plus decay as a proton has to to convert to neutron..

In 8:30 we can see that the ac column does not depend on A value. For Z = 11 and A = 27 ac is equal to 35.6118. For Z = 11 and A = 37 ac is still equal to 35.6118. It is because the formula is wrong. Instead of ac*Z*(Z-1)/A^(1/3) there is ac*Z*(Z-1)/Z^(1/3).
@KelmanUNT5 жыл бұрын
Exacto. La fórmula debió ser: ac*Z*(Z-1)/A^(1/3).
@raghupatino14 жыл бұрын
Radius or distance is proportional to mass number and not atomic number, so it should be A^(1/3)

in the term z equals minus b by 2c then how is the volume term constant av there. the volume term is not a function of z and hence must be there in a in the quadratic formulation a+bz+cz square
