This May, Fukuoka City proudly hosts the 33rd International Japanese-English Translation (IJET) Conference, starting with exciting activities and festivities on May 9, followed by two packed days of engaging presentations. This year’s keynote speakers are Mayumi Sanda and Jun Ajiro, from the acclaimed translation duo behind the authentic portrayal of Japanese language and culture in the hit FX series Shōgun.
With so many Japanese language experts and Japan enthusiasts gathering in Fukuoka, we’re bringing you a special livestream to showcase some of the hidden gems and vibrant spots the city has to offer. Nick will be joined by Fukuoka-based Benjamin Tompkins, Chair of the IJET-33 Organizing Committee, as they explore the city and share insider tips on convenient and interesting locations only locals know.

JET33 implies running 33yrs. Didn't outline JET program, criteria for acceptance.... wrt JET application or why attend the event - yes there's a link in the description - was expecting something more to encourage viewer participation.
