Every video I've watched on correction software shows everyone has a giant dip close to 100hz. The only thing panels and foam does is smooth out the eq curve. You still have the same issues, so you're just really polishing a turd. I say this because I have 12 inches of foam covering the entirety of my mix room and while the eq curve was smooth af, and both speakers were mostly in phase, but I still had a huge dip at 100hz and a bump at 50hz. My desk caused the same thing in the mids, but the software flattened all that out. It's weird but beautiful to feel that bass guitar growl like it's supposed to. Thanks for the video!

If it can make your Barefoot 02's sound better.I have to try it.Just got the 03's NAMM weekend.Home studio has Never sounded so good.I've had a Lot of monitors over the years.These are the 1st 3 ways I've had down here.03's are replacing the Presonus S-8's. I've had those for 10 years. O3's are the only other monitors I've had with the same-if not better imageing.Still moving them around,To find the best imageing.Definely like the idea of having a box going to the monitors.Been Subbed for quite a while.You have Good reveiws and Information.Appreciate It..Best Regards..👍

Interesting. I may have to consider this. Right now when I want to take my room out of the equation, I use headphones. I presume this would eliminate that step.

is it possible to use the software without a daw? Like playing a stand-alone VST and having the sound corrected through ARC4? Thanks

What i dont really understand and always wondered about... If you create a mix in a somewhat Ok-ish room, its result should sound OK in an untreated room where people actually listen to music, right? But if you create a mix in a "super perfect room" (or a corrected one in this case), would that not translate into a worse sounding mix for a listener in their untreated room? How does that work? Any info, insights or links appreciated. Just hoping to learn something 🙂

@@luigipietro20 I've replaced Sonarworks for this. Won't go back, having the hardware box is so nice. Can swap in/out other computers and it always corrects.

In order to have a better idea you should measure your room without any correction with another software (I suggest REW) using the IK mic (or, better, one of the inexpensive calibrated mics suggested by REW), and then make a measurement with the correction but using the same REW software. That would give you a more accurate comparison between the before and after. It's a great software, and to me it sounds way better than Sonarworks.

Depends where you split the output to the sub. It only handles two channels, but you can put an active crossover after it and split the sub out from there.

Thanks for the video, that is interesting. To be honest I'd given up on room correction software. I actually got Arc 3 in a sale but just didn't like the way it sounded so never used it. Well, last BF I decided to do a deep dive so downloaded the demos for sonarworks and Dirac Live and also fired Arc 3 back up. After a lot of testing I discovered that every single one of them was putting my mixes out of phase. I tested them all with a single mono sine tone and the room correction software on the stereo mixbuss and they all put it out of phase. And that's not just my ears (although it was obvious) but the correlation and phase meters backed that up. I tried all the phase settings on each of the plugins to try and get rid of it but nothing worked. If they were trying to correct phase then it wasn't working because I could hear my mixes going out of phase. So I abandoned room correction (again) and decided that either I knew something nobody else did or I was doing something fundamentally wrong. Although I'm not sure what that could be. So, I'm curious. If you have a song with just one mono sine tone going into your mixbus with Arc 4 plugin on the mixbuss, does it stay in phase?

This work if i have a monitor controller with Sub out?

If you connect it before the controller it will work. I have it in between my interface and active crossover that splits out to two monitors and two subs. Just set the subs and monitors gain to unity and let this do its job.
