WOW…what a great video! SUB’d and liked. I am getting there. No probs with Syntronic, but SampleTank has been a nightmare. I finally came upon your channel and this has prevented me from bashing my computer into small pieces. IK should be ashamed! The thing I do not like are all the folders and sub folders and sub folders etc etc. Now I’m cleaning everything up and finally getting somewhere. Thanks for posting.

I m on a Mac and have been emailing back and forth with I K Media for 3 Days so I wish I had seen this first to save me time. I had the same problem as you affirm in your video. Basically, all ST4 instruments install fine. The problem is with the ST3 instruments. These, you have to bypass the installation file and literally copy the files directly into the Sampletank3 Folder, just as you suggest. The Syntronik files also go into the Sampletank3 folder. Good video, btw. ;)

Your video should ship with every purchase. I actually have had the software for a couple of years and the software is great. You don't really need anything else. But the first impression that this Product "Mis" Manager makes on a new customer is terrible. Install is like punching your way out of a plastic bag.

How do you move Ik .. library to an external hard drive . G drive for sound library and Mac HD for software?

You can install it anywhere you like you just gotta change the location in the vst settings and direct it to your preferred location in order for it to locate your library. Trusting this is satisfactory

Its not just Mac. It's Windows too. I know it's IK Multimedia that is the problem. I have the Total Studio and I highly doubt I will ever download everything. It's insane.

Believe me, I feel your pain. I am deeply scarred from my experience of downloading from IK Multimedia. Always ridiculously slow and flaky. I don't expect a large library to be quick, but after 6 days of more or less continuous downloading ( I promise I am not lying ) I have still not finished. I've also ended up with an absolute rats nest of folders and sub folders, and not really sure what to do with them. As you mentioned yourself, the downloads would constantly stall and if you don't actually sit at the pc the whole time, you won't know about it until you check. Nightmare!

I purchased and own three of IK's *MAX* products Sampletank being the latest one with 600+ gigs of sounds. Problem is IK's downloader is absolutely trash. You have to sit and watch it. In the middle of downloading , it will just stop. You have to pause it, wait a few minutes (5-10) and then start it again. I had to do this 3-5 times for anything over 4GB, which most of their libraries are.

yeahhh, that's the issue i was having while installing that's why i chose the manual download route 😅, just kinda lengthier than using IK' downloader. Craziest part is after using the manual download path IK downloader do not updates the sound library to confirm whether or not the manual download and install was completed properly, you just have to make sure is actually done on your own!!!

Hi ! How did you install the software, in my case Sampletank 4 !I CAN’T install Sampletank 4! I tried everything, the product manager says „ the volume disc on the download path does not exist, and when I want to install the volume disk=sounds they say, I have to install Sampletank 4 first……no way…and the support sais, my message has invalid characters - no answer--on purpose??.I give up….if there's no solution, I want my money back, thanks!

tip for people outside the US who have a slow download rate, take a free VPN (like Proton) and point to another country, my dl went from 300kb to 3mb/sec. 🙂(free version limit)

I have Max but I really don't think by today's standard that the Syntronik and Sampletank stuff is worth the hassle. It's nowhere near as good as other companies stuff. The amount of garbage it leaves all over your computer is ridiculous.
