These tracks are exactly what I want to be doing! I don't want a vehicle that can drive the toughest tracks anywhere I go, I just need something that can get me off the paved roads and into wilderness while still being able to carry enough equipment to live a simple life while traveling. Great rig Dan.

Two things I like doing when traveling is ..checking out the bakery and if the town is old (1800),I visit the cemetery .You will find a history lesson of life , in a bygone era.

I've always felt weird visiting a graveyard when traveling, but they really can be fascinating especially seeing tombstones and family descriptions on them from the 1800s, and in rare cases even older. Really is a history lesson like you said.

Bakery pies are a staple for anyone overlanding Australia. You might have to add a pie warmer to your Jeep so you can grab a cold pie from your favorite bakery and heat it up while you're driving to your next camp or road side stop for lunch. Something like the "Wanderer Roadster 12v Portable Food Warmer" that BCF sells is great! Almost every camping store in Australia will have something similar.

I once had a kangaroo steak, in of all places, an Air Force dinning hall in Texas. A local fast food restaurant had been busted for selling kangaroo steaks as beef. They sold it to the base dinning hall. It was a little tough but not bad. I think it gave me the hops!🦘🤣 Another great adventure Dan! Can’t wait for your next book!👍

Dan, You ought to sell that canvas topper. The buyer could have the frame made locally… Seems pretty fool proof… complete with Australian patina…then fit another to your truck and go on! Or just manufacture them and sell the new ones!

Wow. Beautiful country. In the southwest US a place like that would be full of rattlesnakes and other poisonous wildlife. Anything similar in that park? How much time does videoing all of this add on? You all have serious patience!

Excellent video. The flinders ranges are definitely on our to do list. How many days would you recommend exploring them? We're about 2.500k away in WA. If we do go, we'd like to see all of it. Cheers
@TheRoadChoseMe2 жыл бұрын
You will see a lot in a week, and I'd say pretty close to "all" in two. Three weeks would be luxurious.
@trackexplore2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response. I don't think we can spend 3 weeks there, would be nice though. I reckon it'll take us 4 days to get there. Same traveling back. We're stuck to school holidays as my wife's a teacher. She could add some extra time to school holidays, keep the kids out of school for a week or so extra. Unless we go in the 6 week brake during December and January. It's definitely on our list.
@KarlEller2 жыл бұрын
@@trackexplore I think during Dec/Jan it would be punishingly hot, too hot to really be able to enjoy anything.
@trackexplore2 жыл бұрын
@@KarlEller, you're probably right. There's a good chance it will be. We haven't cemented our trip in yet. Just looking into it atm. It quite possibly could be a different time of the year when we go.
