Phobias often develop because of trauma associations. So don't recommend Kung Fu Hustle for movie night, gotcha. But church bells are hella scary if you think about it. These huge metal objects are being dangled at a tall spot. That's a lot of potential energy waiting to be converted to kinetic energy. Not to mention, because of how loud they need to be, sometimes, you can feel the air and ground vibrate from their tolls.

Sky unfortunately has a lot of bells in it. Like a bunch of bell sound effects and they tend to sound off randomly. Especially in the home area if you’re just sitting there vibing or talking. They’ll sound off at random intervals without any warning. It’s…really annoying imo, but for someone with this phobia i can see it can being a super bad experience for them.

I get the struggle with phobias, fortunately i’ve been able to “train” mine by triggering myself just a little often and then try not to let my body react to it, then again i don’t know if i would’ve been able to purposely trigger myself if it didn’t negatively impact my life as much as it has (i’ve had to be out of school for almost three years because of it now, emetophobia, strong irrational fear of vomit, and a nausea anxiety response is a very uncomfortable combo to have) I don’t get anxiety attacks when it crosses my mind anymore tho, and i can almost take hearing it in movies, although i do still look away and cover my ears if it comes up, i don’t panic if someone coughs anymore, people bringing it up in conversation isn’t as bad anymore, real life is way too much tho It seems kind of silly to be afraid of a bodyfunction that’s supposed to help you get rid of things that could harm your body but oh well, that’s life ig

So an interesting thing about sky: the bells don’t look like traditional bells, normally they will swing back and forth to make the sound but in sky they look like a cone on top of a tower and they rotate to make the sound. The other thing is that they have a visual cue and you can adjust the in game volumes individually for sound effects BGM and musical instruments

If it's any consolation, Ike, the bells in Sky aren't deep pitched like church bells or too loud. And they don't look like regular bells at all. If it does bother you, find a Butterfly Player who can help you reach locations without them ringing But in Sky, it's not the loud things that'll hurt you. It's the quiet ones... I don’t really like the sound of church bells because it’s kinda a weird feeling when you stand close enough to feel the vibrations through your entire body but i don’t even hear church bells anymore if i don’t pay attention to it. The school i go to we have a church directly next to our main school building. (My school used to be a place where monks lived a few hundred years ago and we still have the same buildings made out of stone so they obviously couldn’t built the school further away from the church) The church bell rings every single hour and i don’t think that any of the students there even hear it anymore because we hear it ring like that 8 times a day. My school is a combined middle school and high school (I’m from Europe so our school systems are different, we have elementary school up to 6th grade where we are 12 years old and after that we have 7 years of what we call “Lycée”.) I’m in my fifth year of Lycée so I’ve heard these bells 8 times a day for 5 years straight. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have a phobia of bells in my school, my guess would be that you would maybe become accustomed to it after a few weeks but i wouldn’t know. I just know that everyone interpretes things differently and i hope everyone is doing the best they can out there. I have misophbia so I’m not completely stranger to phobias but in my case my phobia doesn’t make me anxious, i just get the chills and feel sick to the stomach, i imagine it could be the same for Ike since both phobias have to do with hearing certain things. Of course is it very possible that his phobia is more intense but I’m not really sure about anything. And for everyone that os still here, Misopobia is kind of like a “fear” of certain sounds, for me it is chewing sounds, swallowing sounds, when someone is breathing unclearly or anything of the sort. I hope i educated someone out there with this that was interested.😅 Anyway, i wish everyone out there a wonderful night/day, i hope you’re healthy and get enough sleep tomorrow, not today because i don’t wanna be a hypocrite but still. Also for everyone struggling with insomnia like me, try listening to your own heart beat when you try to fall asleep and make sure you brush your teeth and blow your nose, the weird breathing sound i make when i don’t have a clear nose always keeps me awake so be sure to do that. Bye-bye, just do your best everyone. 🫶

@@LambTAFFF Makes sense in a way. I had a realization moment when I was at the dentist that sort of clicked on why people can be afraid to have the dentist working in their mouths. Little harder to apply the idea to bells for me, but I think I get it more now.
@LambTAFFF2 жыл бұрын
@@IcomanSB also, trauma can play a big part. Ike says he doesnt know where it comes from, but traumas can cause phobias wayyy before you can even begin to remember stuff. And sometimes experiences can be so traumatic your brain forgets it as a form of escape from overstimulation. Sometimes its not even traumas, just scary shit that for some reason just tickled your brain weirdly at the wrong time (like developing a phobia from something you saw in the tv) Obviously i dont know ike so this is all speculation, and phobias can also come randomly because the brain is dumb. But if anyone's curious about some mysterious origins of their phobia, i recommend asking your parents or other people who were close to you growing up about it.
