Great review.. Thanks! As for the blind facing the back, its designed for older windows that you can't mount the blind inside the window casement like yours, but instead need to be mounted on the outside frame. This way the blind is close to the window and seals the light etc. Look forward to your long term review!

Can you please provide the measurement of the bracket from the bend to the front installation hole? Essentially, the minimum depth needed to inside mount the brackets.

Hey Chris! I followed your steps and Smartthings says that I need a hub to connect to my Tradfi dimmer. Did that happen to you?

No it didn't sorry. I've purchased some of Ikea's smart sensors so I'll let you know in a video next week.

Title says "No hub" But you use the smartthings- hub, or no? For clarification, you always need SOME kind of hub to control them via app, right?
@807D14M0ND53 жыл бұрын
Yes. Apps connect to hubs. Remotes connect to devices.

This doesn't seem to work with google home. I don't have a hub, but the app asks me for a code of the blinds.

How did you get it to recognize both voice (Google) and the remote? I can pair either, or but not both at the same time. I've factory reset a million times already

Oh gosh, I can't remember but it was frustrating adding it to my home.

@Electric Chris [Chris Vanderstock] no worries, thanks for responding. I realized after I posted that the vid was old. It is indeed a pain in the ***. I got it to work once... For anyone wondering after 2023 ->link blinds to smartthings, link remote to ST also (NOT to the blinds, it won't work with ST anymore), then set button options for remote in ST (one up, one down). The issue still: worked for a day, then somewhere connection dropped, and they were both no longer recognized by ST. After resetting a million times and even having to go so far as deleting my ST account and data to get the orphaned blinds and remote remove, I can no longer get them to connect to wifi no matter how many times I factory reset. I'll have to just return/exchange them.

I followed your guide and everything went great. I have my blinds working with my Smartthings and Alexa now. But my handheld remote does not work as yours did.. I can't seem to figure out where I went wrong. Any ideas? Should the handheld remote work with no additional instruction? Thanks

How did you add it to your Alexa?
@Hojken3 жыл бұрын
I was reading the comments to find this missing piece in the guide. I can help you. You need to program the controller you added in Smartthings (ST). 1) open ST 2) edit the controller you added 3) for buttom "Up" (sun symbol) choose "control device" on click 4) choose the curtain you would like to control and choose "curtain / open" as the action 5) repeat step 3-4 for the "Down buttom" and choose "curtain / close" as the action.

I live in the country with no internet. Other than using my iPhone as a hotspot. Will these work with just the remote and the battery alone or do they need to be on a wifi system? I don’t care about using an app. I also wondered if the ikea light bulbs are the same? Can I install them in a lamp and use the remote or do these things have to be on wifi?
@chrisvanderstock4 жыл бұрын
They definitely need a wifi / smarter things hub sorry, which means you need persistent internet access to be able to run them.
@jamesdonegal3 жыл бұрын
I think they might work. This video description was a little misleading... smart things is a hub... but they say on reddit that it can work without a hub www.reddit.com/r/tradfri/comments/dk7ibl/fyrtur_blinds_repairing_without_a_gateway/
@TheBooban3 жыл бұрын
@@jamesdonegal aha, thanks for that explanation. It looked like it was just an app with no hub. I don’t want to buy a hub just for one curtain.

i bought a used one and the light on my battery was white when i plugged it in. Does that mean it's fully charged, or that it is charging?
@chrisvanderstock3 жыл бұрын
If it flashes white, it just means that is has charge (when not plugged in). They're slow to charge, so no harm is topping it up and see how you go.

Hey Chris, for the brackets, is there a lot of wiggle room left to right to hang the blinds? Or is it a set distance between the two brackets?
@alexdashti94203 жыл бұрын
There is no set distance. There is full rail which the two brackets will clip to
@norpusinterruptus33184 жыл бұрын
How much are they? I missed that. Would you buy this model again Chris
@chrisvanderstock4 жыл бұрын
I paid $179 each, on special from Ikea. I would buy them again as they work like they're supposed to, but they are a bit cheap so if they are on show, and not behind something, I would perhaps look elsewhere.
