Crazy how many similarities this set up has to my setup at home which cost me a lot more but effectively does the same thing. Similar Ikea table top, slightly better legs, monitor, light bar, and keyboard but everything else is basically the same. Just goes to show with enough determination and time spent you can truly find something at any price range that will still work. That transition into the Brilliant ad was absolutely masterful too HAHAH, I wasn’t even expecting it. I really hope this video gets a lot of traction because your last take on this was an absolute banger. Also never knew about the chair designer of the more expensive version of the IKEA chair mentioned in the video but there’s definitely some crazy similarities there hahaha! Fantastic production quality as always. Hoping you reach 100k before 2022 is over, or better yet before September is over if this video blows up.

I have Alex drawer units. I like the length, width and height of the units and the depth of the drawers, which are spacious. They have one flaw: the opening on the front of each drawer is like a dust magnet. Unless I use a drawer often, there is an accumulation of dust that has drifted in through the opening and settled inside. I might be too fussy, but it's enough for me to regret buying them.

Hey E! Here's suggestion and tip: suggestion to please not forget origins, and use metric measurements, alongside imperial that you're catering to the Anglo demographics. And tip: use AAA batteries and plastic "AA adapter" from Amazon to make mouse much lighter. Difference is noticeable, from my personal experience. I'm using same mouse+magic touchpad on my M1 Air ;) Keep up the good work, and upfront congrats for soon arrival of the silver plate! ;)

I have the same Xiaomi lightbar. It’s pretty decent, however it drives me nuts when it turns on/off since it’s connected directly to the monitor and the monitor is connected to my Mac via Type-C. Any similar issues with yours?

Remember, if you use a monitor arm like this, you won't be able to push the desk all the way up against the wall. Personally, that bothers me. It makes sense to use a monitor holder that you can screw to the wall. Here there are also very great models and cheap.

no, you should not be dissapointed the monitor is not 4k. especially on mac. you can use it in native resolution and no scaling, 4k with scaling would be HUGE with integer scaling - 200%, or blurry af, as mac handles non-integer scaling even worse than windows.

@@ThisIsE so you keep them at 200% scale and therefore use effectively 1080p screen real estate? Surely you would have complaints, as you often say you do/did graphic design/related work, if you used that scaled to 125 or 150%. MacOS is designed for 120ppi, Windows for 95ppi, this is the reason why Apple actually uses 5k resolution instead of 4k, to scale it down 2x, not 1,5x, to achieve crisp details without any inevitable blurriness. If you're on macOS, your choice for a 27" 4K is realistically either the 'looks like 1080p' high DPI mode, or the 'looks like 1440p' high DPI mode. The 'looks like 1080p' mode makes all of the UI elements huge. The 'looks like 1440p' mode makes text slightly fuzzy as it's being downscaled from 5120x2880 to 3840x2160. It's not terrible, but it's nowhere near as nice as the 27" 5K. These kind of details would be much more useful for your viewers than just a mere mention of "it isn't 4k, which is bad". Because it actually isn't bad for people who care about the image clarity.

If you move the laptop to the center you should close the lid then (means that you couldn't use your laptop as a secondary monitor). I must say that 140-150cm width of the table is the best sweat spot. Ikea karlby is a good option to consider, but its pricey.
