Clean setup for sure but in my experience, working with a separate keyboard and mouse/trackpad results in at least a 50% slowdown. Whether typing, programming, photo editing or simply entering data into onscreen PDF form or web-based form, pace is faster with the MBP’s built in keyboard and trackpad. Your hands remain in typing position as you manipulate the MBP’s trackpad. Having to move one hand between the external mouse/trackpad and back to typing position on the keyboard is significant’y slower

I am most definitely so happy that I found this video. I was stuck between trying to pay the price of over $800 for a monitor, my options were the LG super fine display and the EVE Dough monitor. Both are nice, however the Dell here has everything that I'm looking for at a reasonable cost. The stand mount is great. I'm a tall guy and my issue is that I'm always hunched over, this will help with posture and back fatigue.

Friendly advice, if you are a righty and care about natural lighting, you should consider turning around your desk. That way the light will be coming from your left hitting your paper and not your writing hand. In most schools that’s why windows are on the left of students desks. I know that some things are not possible due to how a space can be arranged to look nice and be useful but if your space can take it please consider that.

I ran basically the same arrangement for years on my old 2012 2.9GHz dual core i7 (3520M) 13" MacBook Pro laptop. The cost advantage, neatness and simplicity of having a dual desktop/laptop setup far outweighed the disadvantages of a relatively performance-compromised system. There certainly wasn't a compelling case to 'improve/'modernise' until quite recently - far too many additional bucks for not enough additional bang.

Out of curiosity, why a mouse instead of a track pad? My daughter bought me the Apple keyboard (one with the number keys) and trackpad for Christmas. I bought a Samsung ultra wide with thunderbolt and love the setup. I close my MacBook now and put it to the side. I’m likely going to buy the stand you have because that’s a good price for something that serves a simple purpose and it looks nice they way you have it setup. Great video as usual.
@CreatedTech3 жыл бұрын
Mouse is essential for editing, trackpad makes it quite difficult. In the future I may also add a wireless trackpad to this setup but the mouse is fine for me currently!
@MLJenkins3 жыл бұрын
@@CreatedTech Thanks that is what I somewhat figured. I don't do hardly any video editing, mostly writing and coding. I thought I would hate the trackpad, but it uses much less real estate on my desk and I can move it around as I work on paperwork and drawing. It is a bit clumsy when editing photos in lightroom and such, but I've gotten accustom to it for now. I thought about getting a magic mouse, but wasn't sure if they were really worth the money over a logitech. Also is a huge turnoff that Apple keyboard/mice can't be paired with multiple devices (easily).
