I have watched this video three times already and finally, after 3 days of thought, I decided to order the Ikea items you discussed in this video. (I don't live close to an Ikea so I ordered the items... they will be here tomorrow and the shipping cost was well worth my staying home and planning out the rest of my room!) Thank you so much for this wonderful video full of ideas. You did the work and we benefit! :D

I discovered this pedboard several months back and purchased two online. One divides my desk space from my bed space, the other is on my Craft wall. Because my bedroom is also my office and workspace. They're amazing. However, I found those small hooks weren't always small enough for the things I wanted to hang, so I went to the hardware store and got some small S hooks. And used those to hang a few wire baskets I picked up at a thrift store and some of Ikea's Raggisar baskets. They're made of felt and good for holding lightweight items. I love them! Anyway... Great video! I love seeing how other people use their pegboards.

I am a huge fan of pegboard. We had a TON of it in our garage in previous house and I was always so excited when I found a way to store yet another bulky and awkward-to-store item neatly on the pegboard. Literally everything that couldn't sit on a shelf for storage was up on that pegboard. We had "traditional" pegboard from hardware store. We have collected an amazing variety of hooks and supports over the years and the only thing I never did find was a tiny tray like the one you found to hold a few pencils, tiny screwdrivers, and the like. Beautiful job organizing all that office/art stuff. I can totally geek out when it comes to organization and storage! It's a big job getting a whole pile of stuff organized in a new place. Congrats on getting this in place. Now it's up it's easy to tweak.

Oh my goodness I need a set up like this! It's great how you can see everything and put everything in it's right places. I love how Ikea's peg board has color choices. I don't think I've ever seen different colors in the peg boards. The standard hooks look a lot like one's you'd use in a "regular" peg board. I need one of these so bad.

Better then the posted note is to use an envelope. For sticking it to the wall use the painters tape that gets easy off and can be reattached at the next whole. You can use the envelop for all the wholes and seal it nicely afterwards..

i was so happy when i saw this! i just redid my entire studio/office since i'm now working from home. i painted it a beautiful grey color that looks a bit more blue in the day and a soft greenish tint at night, and then i did the majority of the room with the SKADIS system. i have a small one in reaching distance when i'm sitting at my desk with my daily office supplies, a large one next to it with my less used office supplies & some decorations. then on another wall by my painting easel i have a large board with all my art supplies, and then in another spot i have another large one that has all my supplies & bits for my wedding in august, which i'm DIYing my invitations & a lot of the decor. love seeing you using it too & highlighting it because i just love the system; i did it all in white and i feel like my cute supplies & the colors of all my bits bring all the pops of color to the room while leaving the rest clean feeling.

Thanks for sharing all the great info! Did you paint over the white pegboard or the brown one? Also, did you use spray paint?

Sorry, my husband used my Mac and didn't sign out so the question about painting is actually from me, not Ben. I'm wondering if you used spray paint and if you used the white or brown pegboard to paint over, thanks! : ))
@hannahjane82756 жыл бұрын
ha ha, no worries! & i should have been a lot more clear than i was. i actually painted the walls of my office room grey, and not the pegboards. i purchased the white pegboards & left them as is. but if you want my opinion based on the texture of the pegboards & what i think would be best... i don't spray paint would sit the best on the white pegboards, and you'd probably want to use chalk or furniture paint, but the brown pegboards would probably be just fine with any kind of paint!

Swede living in USA here! You are not pronouncing "skådis" quite right but considering you don't have the letter "å" in your language I think you are doing a good job ;) Skådis is short (slang) for skådespelare/skådespelerska :) It means actor/actress ;) I have two of the big rectangular ones over my craft desks but might buy more of them, they are so so practical. I love them and the accessories IKEA have made for them. I have sooo much tools and materials that it really helps to be able to store stuff right on the wall like that ;) Thanks for sharing this video. Thanks for posting this video! It was really helpful to see how all of the accessories can be used. I picked up a couple of these pegboards to clear off the work space on my craft tables and I love them. So easy to install and if you use Walldog drywall screws, you don't even need to drill holes in the wall with a drill or use wall anchors. They just screw right into the drywall with a regular screwdriver and the size I used holds 50 pounds! I also used them to hang up the Ikea Ribba picture ledges. I will add this disclaimer in case anyone else wants to use them, but one of the Walldog screws would not tighten up so I did end up popping a wall anchor in the hole and using a different screw. This is the first time that has happened to me so I am inclined to think it was something about my drywall and not the screw. All in all, I love the Ikea Skadis pegboard system and would definitely recommend them as well!

Just a little hack....if you get the Ikea "Rinnig" Article number 60387305 this will fit on the Skadis wide hooks. So you are now using a kitchen utensil rack on your peg board. It is meant to hold cutlery, but it looks really good - contrasting brown colour and holds a lot of stuff. Great for "Everyday Texters", "Various Glues" and many other odds and ends. I have installed 5 of them on the bottom row of holes. Thanks Jenifer, I would have never considered Ikea for my workshop. it looks so much better now! Cheers :)

I have a traditional pegboard on my wall and the smaller, more manageable size and those little spacers you put behind the pegboard to bump it away from the wall, is GOLD! Also the ideas for what you used the hardware for is nifty too, cause the hardware store didn't have any idea sheets that went with the board or pegs, so I had to learn to put it up and hang stuff by trial and error. Thanks for making this video, cause now I have some more ideas what to use those extra pieces for that are just sitting in a box.

If you want to mount standard peg board you don't need a wooden frame as you can get cup like feet or rubber feet for spacing it off the wall. They're usually in a set of pegboard hooks. Durahook is a good brand.

I saw a video where someone outlined the spot on the peg board so they remembered where it goes or if someone borrowed one of your peg board items. You could also cut out a outline of your items on card stock and tape it to where you want it so you can change placement if you want. You could use you new paper punch to put eyelets in. Lol

It looks like you could drill a hole in your paint holders for the hook to fasten into. Another possibility would be to 3D-print a special bracket for holding non standard fittings. You;ll need a micrometer to measure the hook part of the bracket to get exact specs from your existing items. I usually go to the library downtown and they have a 3D printer I can rent time on for small projects and one offs.

I'm finding im lacking space on the top of my desk... with the board helping me take space away.. but i felt its maybe getting heavy from things i put on the board.. and i'm thinking about putting the board up on the wall instead.. So .. my concern is.. Putting it on the wall ... I only need like one the bar to be attach to the wall.. i mean like mount and like with the screws ... right.. and then the bottom of the board itself only need the back piece of the screw ... so overall one bar to screw and attach to the wall? thanks

I already have a black 5x5 Kallax (bought 2nd hand, otherwise I'd chosen white) with a white Linnmon, the smallest one, which I hooked to the kallax with hinges so I can fold it up when needed and instead of legs to the table, I'm using an old bureau. I'm going to add another Kallax, this time 4x1, next to it and now I'm thinking of buying a Skådis and put on a hinge between the two Kallax and have it connected to the table when it's down.
