My il2 1946 don't work anymore. Anytips? It's the steam version. The problems I have are there is no main menu music, the mouse cursor stays on screen all game, and the escape button doesn't pull up the pause menu anymore.

A ?? RE: your "schwarm-mates"...I assume they were AI. Do you know what happened to them? Also anything that can be done to make them more 'protective' of you, as the flight lead?

They were shot down, as they always are. AI does not concider numerical disadvantages. As soon as you tell them to engage, they engage any number of enemies. The mission isn't designed to be survived by anybody anyway. It's designed in such a way that makes absolutely sure that we are going to be hunted / killed by escort fighters. It's 4 Ta-152s against 36 P-51s & 80 B-17s.

I Love getting new maps but I only have the vanilla 1946 version 13.4a--can the central Europe Map be loaded onto the the 4.13.4a without having SAS?

You can't load any mods without the SAS Modactivator. It's the thing that enables you to use mods at all.
